Blog Article Ranked # 2 in google, now what?

I just noticed that an article I wrote last week is now #2 (i.e front page, second listing) when I search for particular keywords. Granted there is low competition for these keywords and under 2000 global monthly searches. What your opinion on this? Is this good? and if so, what can I do about it. Is there a way to capitalize somehow?

Add some kind of tracking so you can see how much traffic you get to that site from it. Traffic adds up as you get it more and more from different places, so see how much you're getting, go get some more from other places and try to monetize it. You may not get any traffic at all from it, only one way to tell.

    Rinse and repeat my friend.

You need loads of articles on your blog getting those or similar rankings. Each article will send you traffic and it all adds up over the years.

The moderate way is to put adsense on the blog. It'll give you passive income.

    Also... do rinse and repeat.
Search for other keywords that have higher search volume, rank it with what you doing right now, and monetize the traffic using Adsense/ CPA/ you build your list first and promote Clickbank offers later.
After you have succeed rank it, rinse and repeat again for other keywords.

    Monetize!

Put some adsense on their or an affiliate offer.

I prefer using getclicky/google webmaster tools to track my traffic.

    Of course it's good!

My advice would be to make sure that you're building a list using your website.

Offer the traffic you'll receive an incentive to sign up.

But as Will said, you need to rinse and repeat. 1 article won't be enough to drive consistent traffic to your website.

And you should track how many visitors are coming on that article page, track their location too, this way you can give something to buy from your article.. or simply you can put Adsense code.

Do this... you are not only multiply the traffic, you also will multiply your income

Adsense is all about multiplication. It's hard to get $50/ day from adsense, but it's easy to get $5 from 10 Adsense sites. You already have the hardest skill, the SEO, you just need to combine it with Keyword Research skill.

Do you use Google Analytics for tracking your site traffic? Furthermore, if your blog is ranked on Google rankings so you should start Google Adsense which is good for online earning through your blog.

I use google analytics and that is how I realized that the article was being visited though I do not know have a count. I do know I have about about 250 unique visitors a day and over 550 people who view the site and that increases daily. I have had google adsense, chitika, am an amazon associate and have some other ads on the blog with commission junction. The blog has been up and running for almost a month. I have made ZERO money with adsense, actually with all of the ads. I don't know if it will start making some money as the traffic increases or if I am doing something wrong. I am trying to built a list but have had only two people sign up. I welcome any more advice. Thank you!

250 UV is pretty good and you should try to capture something from that not just rely on AdSense. I have the same prob when it comes to trying to build a list from visitors but keep trying diff things till something works.

You can try placing your optins in diff places on your blog for starters you can also try this with something really simple that doesn't get them to optin or anything but at least gets them to take some kind of action so that you can test what works and what doesn't.

What I mean by this for example: lets say you just put an easy simple yes or no Poll on your blog...you can play around with the placement of it and the appearance and the wording and find out what works best...then you would move on to using what you learned and placed something that does you some good like an email capture or something.

As people are saying here you should rinse and repeat with your blog posts and get some ads on your site.

I have Adsense on some sites that get traffic but get no clicks. So it depends on your niche/market as to which ads to put on your site. And there is really only one way to find out, and that is to test.

Can you find a relevant Clickbank or Amazon product that you could place near the end of the article? If you do see traffic hitting this page because of your good ranking there is a fair chance your visitors will be interested in what you have to offer.

That's what I'd do in your position

If you dont know what to do after ranking then why bother trying it? Dont do anything half assedly. Either know about it fully or dont do it at all.
