which niche should i choose?

hi everybody,
i am about to build an authority website but i am not sure about the niche yet.. in fact, it is a blog and it should be about one of the following:
- breakups for men
- breakups (men and women)
- relationships advice for men
- relationships advice (men and women)
- men only stuff (self improvement advice as well as relationship advice) somehow like theartofmanliness.com for example.

so which niche of the above is the best choice? and why?

Seriously? Its up to you to choose your niche and sub niche. The people who know the answer are not going to reveal which one and why for you. It can be a costly experience choosing a niche.

All of those niches are very competitive. Since it sounds like you don't have a ton of experience, I'd say try going for a less competitive niche that you actually have interest in.

fkb.me — Daily hand-curated lists of FREE Kindle books
The Backlight — Blog about digital publishing and self publishing from a guy who's been blogging for 9+ years and published 38 Kindle books

You can target a competitive niche and still succeed. You just need to pick reasonably uncompetitive keywords. If you don't know how to do that yet, then I agree with Tristan, you should pick something a little less competitive.

That being said, make sure people are spending money in the niche that you pick.

Of the niches that you provided, I would be most interested in relationship advice for men. That way I could promote a bunch of offers related to attracting women. Plus, it would be slightly less competitive than relationship advice in general.

Breakup advice would be okay. But I like "get your ex back" niches better, because you have a better angle for promoting a solution.

relationships advice is a very profitable niche and I have seen people banking thousands of dollars per month from this niche.

    This one.

There are many men who could use this piece of information, especially if you can incorporate learning how to improve their love life, and how they can increase the size of their "manhood".

A quick visit to the Google keyword tool found the following:
    understanding men in relationships
    relationship tips for men
    psychology of men in relationships

They were all around 880 which is usually very attainable for ranking.

You could target the lower search volumes and build out from there.

You can try creating survey form online or your blog and check
The needs in this niche and start writing on it as
People looking for information that would benefit them in long term

You could do your keyword analysis on each, and choose them on that basis. For example, look at the ratios of searches to google results (in quotes), which is a rough idea of the competition, or get more precise and analyse the strengths/weaknesses (PR, backlinks, relevance etc.) of every site on page 1 for each keyword. That would give you some idea of the relative competition for each.

You would also probably do better writing about a subject you are personally interested in, and/or experienced in, so put that factor into the mix.

Or you could do a brief test of each, and see which gets the best results in practice.
