Your biggest DOUBT starting IM

What was your biggest doubt starting IM? I believe IM is far from the average traditional life, as in going to college, getting a degree and working an average job. It's not easy to go against the norm. So, what were your BIGGEST obstacles you faced that almost made you quit entirely? What drove you to reaching your goals?

I'm still pretty fresh in IM, so I can probably express some of my CURRENT doubts within the field as well as obstacles.

By far, the biggest doubt is if I will ever be able to turn this into a profitable, sustainable business which will allow me to leave my 9-5. I've read countless numbers of people who this has come a reality for, but it's hard for me to wrap my head around considering the lack of success I've had thus far.

I've read posts of people making $5000 in their second month, which is very far away for me. With hosting costs, domain names, ebooks, etc, I'm in the red every month. While I am still pretty fresh, I feel I am learning a lot and hoping if I diligently keep up at it, it will pay off in time.

As far as my biggest obstacle thus far, it seems to be staying focused within one area of IM and running with it. I've chosen blogging as my platform to begin with since I'm pretty savvy in Wordpress and I know how to do SEO on my blog for good organic traffic results. However, I've been tempted to dabble in PPC, but feel I'm too fresh and have been able to resist the temptation of getting involved (yet).

From where I was at a few months ago, my knowledge of IM has grown by leaps and bounds. I've also noticed a change in my perception and way of looking at ideas, now I try to figure out a way I can spin ANYTHING into turning a profit. While my sales haven't been stellar (or existent for that matter), I'm keeping my fingers crossed and patiently waiting for the day it will all 'click'.

I can say one thing, out of all the jobs I've ever had this is the one that drives me the most and keeps me pushing myself day in and day out.

I can definitely relate. I think it's because the potential in IM is limitless, unlike a 9-5 job. I love learning and studying IM more than anything I've studied before.

I was having a discussion about this last week with a guy in my business center who's thinking of starting his own business.

His biggest doubt is the uncertainty of success.

In other words, he's procrastinating while waiting for the word from above (or below) that his venture will be a success. 100%. Guaranteed.

Well, he can wait as long as he wants, he can research, plan, talk to people and everything else you can think of but he will never get the certainty he seeks.

If success was 100% guaranteed, then everyone would be a millionaire, right?

      There's risk. OK?

Deal with it. Live with it. Move on.

Welcome to the world of the entrepreneur!

      Cheers,

My biggest doubt, and I've recently made over $230 in clickbank sales in the last three weeks, is that I will NEVER be able to fire my job. I make good money at my job compared to most people in my area (I make $18.50 an hour driving an 18 wheeler locally in Northwestern Pennsylvania USA) but I HATE my job.

    I Won't quit working IM .... ever.
