Hi,
Im new to the forum and I have been digging through the posts trying to figure out affiliate marketing. I already have alot of fitness blogs that I want to use to generate income.

How can I use the blogs with affiliate marketing. Do I just post banners all over or do i create a landing page with specific offers?

    By building lists.

There are countless affiliate products in your niche.

It's readily possible to monetize blogs if you get off to the right start.

This post may give you a framework to get started (mentally substitute the more general words "affiliate products" for the more specific words "ClickBank products" when you read it - it's all valid whether they're ClickBank products or not): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6737670

No. That's no good. Not "all over". It might bring in the occasional semi-random sale, but very few and it's not a business at all (and can look a major distraction from your blogs, too). One or two discreet ones might not hurt.

No. No "offers". You're asking about being an affiliate, not a vendor? Vendors have offers. Affiliates build lists and relationships, and then on the strength of the relationships they recommend vendors' offers (mostly by email), and on the strength of their subscribers' trust in them, some will try them. Affiliates "pre-sell". Vendors "sell". Be a "coach", not a "salesperson", and you'll sell a lot more.

    PS Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the response. On building lists, do you use an email platform like constant contact to email offers. How do you set up those emails? Any good reads on email marketing? I have a huge list already and I want to start using it with some 'markethealth' offers.

Focus on 1 blog instead of many. Then spend alot of time of your day promoting and driving legit traffic to your blog. Look at examples of many blog templates, and emulate your blog out of them.

I built my blog myself and I promoted it in every way possible but still no sales conversions. At this point I am considering hiring a professional web developer who can help me in that respect. I know how to generate traffic, it is just not converting.

        Steps....
        1. Drive targeted traffic until you get consistent traffic
        2. Build a list by capturing emails through offering free e-book, product, etc
        3. Either start a product launch campaign through your list, or offer them related affiliate products
        4. Optional: unobtrusive targeted ad's - look at The Next Web - International technology news, business & culture

That's how I would do it.

The key ingredient to email marketing is building a relationship with your list.

Randomly sending them offers isn't enough.

It's because your blog reads like a sales page, Connie. That kind of proves exactly the main point I mentioned in my post above, perhaps?

In my opinion, a professional web developer isn't the answer. It isn't so much the design of your site that's stopping all that traffic from converting (though undeniably it looks like a sales page, which certainly doesn't help): it's the fact that you're not successfully building lists and relationships.

Lists and relationships are "where the money is".

Respectfully, I suggest that rather than outsourcing the design of your site to a professional web developer, you start by considering/learning the difference between "pre-selling" and "selling". At the moment you're trying to "sell" to cold traffic, and that doesn't generally produce income, with niche sites. This may help: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...l-tactics.html

This is solid thanks. Ive had everyone tell me it is not professional enough and that I need to redesign but I believe credibility and relationships on the web are more important.

Google values only quality blogs, and its really tough to get Google's positive feedback or a sign of appreciation, whatever you may think. So, be very careful blogging for Google at least.

I'd recommend to focus on one blog and utilize Google Adsense.

    Hey Coach Connie!

There are lots of ways you can use a Blog to monetize your affiliate products.

The best thing you could do is first build an audience and become a presence within your community. Do this by contributing to forums, helping newbies in your niche, offering advice, tips and tutorials/ideas, contribute to other peoples blogs, write articles to drive traffic, create squidoo lens about you and what you do etc.... Doing this will create a good presence and give you credibility.

Whilst doing this, you can review products/your affiliate products on your blog with outbound links. As people will listen to you due to your expertise in the market, if you recommend a product they will be likely to buy.

I would also suggest you build a list (search for list building techniques). Then you can use email marketing to drive offers to targeted traffic - this is awesome because rather than making traffic come to your blog, you can send your own traffic of products to a car park full of customers. Get what I mean? Real, massive income is in your list.

I hope some of this gives you some ideas.

Hello Ladies and Gents ! I am here to ad valuable content as I get to know everyone. Following Alex Jeffry I created my first blog last week. In infancy stages, I am happy to report, with good advice, I am making rapid progress. I hope to develop a good rapport here and give and recieve valuable advice. I am still waiting for the first person to reply to my blog. So here i am starting to drive traffic, (hopefully) meet some friends and propel it all forward. I just want people to know, like, and trust me and build relationships to ad to my mailing list !!! Wallah, walla, bling bang. LOL I am mostly on a newbie learning curve, so I probably need more advice than I can lend at this time, although I do have some experiences and feel I am on the right track and up and running. So I will help as I can, and help more as I gain experience. Someone helped me over the anxiety of information overload, and i am peaceful and have skills in problem-solving that may calm others as well. But right now, I need advice from others. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated ? Double thanks !!

try shareasale for products. they have a good fitness one that I post on my website. Maybe start giving away some free info and driving traffic to your blog with an ad or two of products you are selling.

The famous affiliate marketer Chris Guthrie uses the trick of linking the relevant images of your blog post to the affiliate products. You should try one. However he prefers Amazon over Clickbank or Shareasale.

I have been blogging successfully for 5 years now. It's not my main source of income but it has been producing $1K to $3K per month on average. In my opinion, it starts with a good platform and theme, something easy on the eyes. Then provide excellent content that people will want to read, do some keyword research so your blog can be found organically and then somewhere in the blog, have a lead capture/call to action to generate a lead or sale. Good luck...

Unless you have a massive network of auto blogs with good converting ads or offers then there is not much in blogs these days.

Once you begin to build a list and have developed a relationship with that list; you can then continue to direct them towards your blog and have affiliate offers there that are relevant to what your subscribers want and can help them with what ever it is they are trying to achieve.

I agree with Alexa Smith though that you should not have banner ads all over the place as your first visitors will just see you as a seller and not someone who provides value first.

Offer something of value to your blog visitors also so you can turn them into subscribers.

Just make a start with blogging and aim to update it with fresh content that will attract new visitors to it consistently.

Hope you see success with blogging and keep us posted Coach Connie!!!

I have many posts on the site but the theme that I am using doesn't really show the posts well even though I post everyday. Thanks for the feedback. I will try to fix that. Never thought that my posts are actually hard to find.
