Recommeded training for profiting from a member site?

I want to start a member site but would like to know the best way to do it. I'm sure someone here knows of a few good training courses on it. Thank you!

    Don't know about any training courses...but search for the S2Member plugin for wordpress...its a great FREE membership plugin that handles EVERYTHING from signing up new members to showing content on your site.

    And they have lots of free videos that go with it to help explain things.

    Thanks, John. I bought Wishlist Member for one site but I now believe that my idea won't work. So I am thinking through a new concept but also I'm looking for advice on things.

    Like, should the whole site be a sales page with the backend being the membership area or should there be a blog attached too? Where do I get all the content (once I dump my brain).

    That type of thing.

    I want recurring income not just a sale.

      It depends on the market, your content, and how you position the site.

      The 2 main membership models, true continuity (payments continue forever), fixed term (eg 12 payments then ends), and lots of methods of content delivery, downloads, view on site, email.

      On allowing to view on site- you can do teaser text/magazine model, where they see teaser text, like the 1st paragraph, or 1st 30 seconds of the video or at least some of the content on a front page, then have to login/signup to see the rest. Or you can make it a walled garden, where they have to log in to see any of the content.

      Most people i work with do true continuity, magazine model.
