hey guy i use host gator and i see that they have website visitor tracking etc but i'm sure there are better ones out there what do you guys recommend? (free please

I use Supercounters - free hit counter,users online counter flag counter visitor map for website blog and tumblr it allows me to see how many's online in real time and also shows me the country, systems etc.

It's a really great free tool.

I use Statcounter on my sites. The Visitor Paths section tells you where they came from and where thye're going.

  Google Analytics - a quick easy install that tracks your visitors by city/area/demographic/platform . EVERYTHING you need to know is on that dashboard.
  
  Google & Bing Webmaster tools - it's a helpful tool that tracks keyword submission as well as gives you an insight on making your webpage more search engine friendly for everyone
  
  You don't to by yes you could use Statscounter.com widget if you want, but I find it unnecessary.
