Cheap Monthly Hosting That Doesnt Require 6 month+ Package

Basically I've had Hostgator for 3 years on a month to month at $8 a month. I think this is pretty steep. I was wondering if there are any other options for cheap month to month hosting that does not require me to sign up for 3, 6 12 month packages? Thanks in advance.

    Nobody require 6 months hosting, and $8 a month is not cheap, there are companies hosting as low as $2 to $3 a month.

    What exactly do you need in a hosting ?

      From my research, most will not allow you to sign up for a month to month. Hostgator is the only one I have found...and they make you pay for the privilege big time. Unless I am looking in the wrong places?

      I basically need a host that will allow me to host new and existing wordpress sites that I will sell on later. Nothing on a large scale. Traffic will be minimum.

      Hosting must have cpanel, because I feel very comfortable with it and its a singe to use.

      Any ideas?

    Month to month invoices are always higher. If you are happy with Hostgator I recommend staying with them. Also consider paying up from for a long period of time to save money. If you are worried about not needing the hosting after a certain period of time or having the need to cancel your plan, you can get a pro-rated refund for the amount you haven't used on your hosting account.

    If you definitely want to change web hosts and are still going to do a month to month contract check out HawkHost @ $5.95 for month to month price.

    $8 is costly? You can search around but lets say after a few hours of searching you find a decent company that has cPanel, no monthly, everything you need for $3.99 a month. That means you saved $4.01 a month or $48.12 a year for you efforts AND if you have existing sites you have to transfer them, change DNS for existing domains etc. Seems like a lot of work to save a lousy $48 over a years time.

    JustHost costs just 3.45 euros a month. And they have unlimited of everything. I prefer them over NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-, Yahoo and even over Hostgator. I have used HostGator and Yahoo in the past and both were costlier and worse for my requirement. I would recommend JustHost.

    Btw $8 a month for proper hosting isn't expensive, but nor is it cheap. But it is slightly on the higher side.
