Finding Affiliates: ClickBank vs ShareASale

We have used ShareaSale for a while and it seems the only people signing up FROM the shareasale affiliate list are coupon sites and not any real solid affiliates.

I've been looking into having ClickBank promote our services (logo design) and it seems that there are a LOT of clickbank affiliates out there and there really isn't too much competition in the marketplace.

What do you guys think of "naturally" finding affiliates on Clickbank as compared to Shareasale, has it been easier?

Regardless of platform, some affiliates will seek you out and, of those, only a small proportion will actually manage to generate a sale. That's just the way things work in real life.

Seeking out affiliates who promote in your market could be a way forward - it's time consuming (but outsourceable) but could be a way forward.

If I was looking for affiliates in your market, I'd go for smaller website creators who use things like modified or off-the-shelf Wordpress themes.

But it may well be better/quicker to put your services on the Warriors for Hire section of this site.

    Hi,

You should also consider actively searching out some of those that you would like to have as affiliates and contact them about promoting. Think design blogs with high traffic, business related blogs, etc. Remember to make it dead simple for the affiliate to get started.

Has anyone had any successful experience with ClickBank's affiliates joining?

We are promoting our products on Clickbank.

We had deliberated whether to use CB's platform or not, and we came to the conclusion that since CB is a reliable company that always pays affiliates on time, affiliates will be confident they will be paid.

2 main factors that influence the number of affiliates who will promote your products are:

      1. Good commission rates - CB is known to have one of the highest affiliate commissions in the market, and many products today pay even 75% to their affiliates. Of course that it's your call, but this is an important factor to keep in mind.

      2. How popular is the niche - if the niche is not so popular, I would say that you should also recruit for affiliates to promote your products. Search for them and send them personal emails with you offer. It worked great for us.

Also, all of CB's products are being published in the site: Clickbank Analytics and it gives your product more exposure.

      Hope that helps...

Some Clickbank affiliates join and make of them make sales but I've personally never had enough to tip the balance into the higher gravity levels that a lot of the "make money on Clickbank" products suggest, so haven't had hoardes of affiliates promoting me.

And I make sales as an affiliate as well.

If you're concerned about the potential quality of affiliates then Clickbank has a whitelist feature - not used it personally and couldn't quickly find it on site but I'm sure their support would help. Given the way they're going with different charging levels for different accounts, that would definitely be worth investigating.

Although with all that said, I'm not sure if your pricing is in their league.

So you've had affiliates join up without you actively looking for affiliates on Clickbank? See thats amazing because on ShareaSale, I haven't had ONE affiliate sign up and I think thats a big difference. I think ClickBank has such a large affiliate base it could be possible.

And in terms of pricing, I know that ClickBank is on the lower end but I don't think 250$ starting (our basic package) is too high, is it?

There is a standard limit of $50 on products sold at ClickBank.

The typical maximum price they allow is $200 for vendors residing in the U.S. and $100 for those outside.

In rare circumstances they may approve higher limits.
