The lazy a$$ way to drive traffic with Twitter

One of the best ways to drive traffic is to write a good, informative post on your blog, and then tweet a link to it. I can drive a few hundred people a day to my blog just by doing that.

However, you do not always need to write new blog posts. I recycle popular blog posts of mine all of the time. Here's what I mean:

I have over 14,000 followers, but when I tweet a link to a blog post, most of them are NOT going to see it, unless they were on Twitter at the very moment I tweeted it. So every few weeks I will tweet links to an old blog post.

For instance, everyone loves my list of free press release distribution sites; I have that in a post on my blog. I've driven a couple hundred people from Twitter to that post...half a dozen times over now. Every few weeks, I say something like, "For all my new followers, here's my list of free press release distribution sites" and I link to it.

I do that in the morning...write half a dozen regular tweets in between, talking about what I am up to at the moment...do it again in the afternoon...do another half dozen tweets about what I'm doing...do it again in the evening.

And of course I write a fresh blog post or two every week to keep filling my site up with good content, but I'm just saying, don't waste those old posts - if they were popular once, you can get a LOT of mileage out of them.

Yes, exactly, that is why I emphasize doing a bunch of regular tweeting in between every tweet that has a link in it. People want to see you engaging in conversation on Twitter, not just standing there with a bullhorn shouting "Go to my site!"

I've been doing this regularly for my last 300 or so blog posts and it does
      work very well.

My blog traffic has increased by over 500% just from Twitter posts alone.

And I only have a little over 1,000 followers.

I can only imagine what kind of traffic I'll get once I'm in Dana territory.

For what its worth, If Steve W. thinks Ms. W's "Twitter BF" is a good move, then I guess forking over a measly $1 to get in the game is well worth it.

I've been hovering around the 700 follower mark for a few days, so maybe I need to add some crypto-might to my mix. Now I gotta do is read through Ms. W's semi-lengthy sales page, enter in my PP addy to get the ball rolling.

Ms. W (if you're listening) how would you compare your approach/model to the other CB Vid that's been flooding my Twitter DM email box?

I'm a bit slow on the details occasionally, but realized the "star" could just save my favorites on the timeline anywhere and I have found that an easy reference to retweet things like my bubbletweet or a promotion.

Definitely no harm in re-purposing tweets as well as the posts.

Which CB vid are you referring to?

As for the software - it DEFINITELY will help build up followers. It has for me!

Just in case you've not seen this yet, this "new" Twitter widget comes in both Flash and generic html.

I just installed it on my Video Marketing Blog and it worked 1st time w/out a glitch. I just love when that happens on these new techie trix.

Here's the link to this Twitter widget you might wanna check out...
