The lazy a$$ way to drive traffic with Twitter
However, you do not always need to write new blog posts. I recycle popular blog posts of mine all of the time. Here's what I mean:
I have over 14,000 followers, but when I tweet a link to a blog post, most of them are NOT going to see it, unless they were on Twitter at the very moment I tweeted it. So every few weeks I will tweet links to an old blog post.
For instance, everyone loves my list of free press release distribution sites; I have that in a post on my blog. I've driven a couple hundred people from Twitter to that post...half a dozen times over now. Every few weeks, I say something like, "For all my new followers, here's my list of free press release distribution sites" and I link to it.
I do that in the morning...write half a dozen regular tweets in between, talking about what I am up to at the moment...do it again in the afternoon...do another half dozen tweets about what I'm doing...do it again in the evening.
And of course I write a fresh blog post or two every week to keep filling my site up with good content, but I'm just saying, don't waste those old posts - if they were popular once, you can get a LOT of mileage out of them.
"May I have ten thousand marbles, please?"
