It depends on your title of your wso and the product plus timing. Both free wso and solo ads are different, but you need to make extra effort in terms of attention grabing when using wso to get leads.

It all depends on what you're offering in that WSO, if you're offering a free product/service that is in demand, chances are you're going to get a lot of subscribers. Also, a catchy headline helps.

I would also say it depends on your headline, if it's catchy or not... then I guess it also makes sense to post it at the right time... heard that evening on US time should be the best... or weekends...
It's possible to get 100 clicks, depending on your conversion you will definitely get some subscribers...

As others have already stated, you need a very catchy headline that attracts attention and you need to have a product that people want and are interested in getting.

Some free WSO's can significantly outperform a solo click for click.

This is mostly due to the fact that the solo subs are cold, whereas the WSO subs are already pre-warmed by the forum itself and your own reputation - assuming you've established it.

I've received over 200 subscribers before from a Free WSO...

If you give away a software or something useful it will get a very good response.

There was a time where I was "making a profit" from every "Free" WSO that I was releasing... (I should probably start doing that again, lol).

    Good luck.

    Cheers,

I have talked to people doing this and you get a lot of subs in a short period of time, but you have to promote it for maximum exposure. Another good tactic is to charge one dollar and then you know that the subs are legit and potential customers of yours. For example, instead of giving a month subscription for free, charge one dollar for the first month and then the price goes up.

You know, I agree with a lot of what WillR says and I think it was he who said you'll get better subscribers if you charge at least $1.00 instead of free. If you want freeloaders on your list, you can get even more of those using Adfly. I think here on this forum though you'll get a mix of both types with a freebie offer.

I did try this myself, however, and although I was a tad disappointed with the responsiveness of the subscribers, during my giveaway, I led some of them to an affiliate offer after they subscribed and I made 5 sales from that offer.

    I agree with Joan Altz.
Instead of free I would go with low amount and 100% affiliate commission.
Optional - add an upsell to get some return on the investment.

Result - list of buyers and not list of freebie seekers.
If you make well - list of pleased affiliates ready to promote your next products. :-)

All depends on your offer, headling & sales copy and squeeze page. Anywhere from 50 to 200. Problem is many people will just grab it because it's free not because they actually want it which leads to many of them not even opening your initial email to get in IME.

A $1 WSO can easily get 40+ buying subs on your list, will cover your ad costs and if you have an OTO / upsell you can even make a profit. Those 40 buying subs are better than 100 freebie seekers who half of never open emails.

i see..i think it`s better to create a low price WSO, rather than a free one, after seeing all the comment, to be honest if i go to a free WSO i usually just subscribe - get the product - read it in just 1 minute and the unsubscribe, maybe all of the free WSO seeker also do the ame thing :p
i think a free report of a proven successful campaign will be better than what`s happening, what do you think?

experience is the best teacher, put one out there and see for yourself. It all depends on your offer, one person may get 40 leads a day while another person may only get 2 or 3.

Put one out there and see what happens

It's kind of like asking, if I put an ad in a newspaper, how many customers will I get. There is no way for anyone to give you any accurate number nor should you really be looking for one because it won't make a difference to your results. Your results will be your results and will depend on a LOT of things.

My personal preference would be to sell something instead. Very few people value free stuff nowadays. It has been overused and abused too much over the last few years. If you have something of value then sell it. You'll just attract time wasters otherwise.

Honestly no one can tell you if your ads going to do well. What I haven learned in my years in marketing is if you think you have a creative idea then you work your butt off on it and make it happen. Some ideas will fail and others will be complete gold mines. But you have to keep taking the chances its what makes the entrepreneur. When the going gets rough these people always have another method to try to get into success. Where others fail they see success it's a completely different mindset then most.

    Hey,

If you want to offer a good product in order to build you list you can do. You can make sure that what you are offering is wanted and there is a clear demand for it. You can create posts/threads asking people what they want and so on.

Another method is seeing what is selling well, places like warrior plus and so on will offer that information and you can draw your own inference from what you see.
