How should i market my new business.

I just started a new brokerage business. The business basically allows me to list/advertise peoples things and then in return i get a fee. However i have no idea how to market this thing. I have made some business cards and i have already begun to pass them out at local business's. However i have not even gotten one call yet !

Also, i am wondering if there should be any release forums that i should have the people sign so i am not liable if someone buys junk.

Any help would be amazing.

    So, you have a business like adsense but it only serve offline business. Where you are going to advertise their business? If you want to advertise their business in the internet, you will face a big competitor such as google adsense and facebook. But if you want to advertise it offline, it is a different story.
    I suggest you to check out warrior forum classified ads.

    I would have thought that you would have found the market before starting a business?

    You perhaps need to find places that people hang out that would use your services, and maybe offer an incentive at the beginning to get yourself established...

    Find forums where you can advertise your business via forum signatures or even with threads. Try banner ads on relevant websites, make YouTube videos, do SEO. There are a lot of ways.

    You can advertise online and offline. for online advetising, you could try a banner ad campaign to get an idea if your business model is worth advertising online.

      I would try small classified ads in my local town/city as a starter.
      Then maybe try Gumtree or Craigslist or even do all 3
