Google Analytics still says no visitors?

Hey Warriors-

I recently (last month) re-designed my website and decided to include some affiliate links. All those affiliate links say I have a some traffic - not much, but some.

I verified my site with Google Webmaster Tools and they say I rec'd 25 queries, 700 impressions and 90 clicks (3/5- 4/4). It also gives my SERP for the various keywords.

When I go to Google Analytics, they say I have no visitors at all. Why is that? It's the same sign-in info as for Google Webmaster, and they have my site right there on the page, but no visits. Is that normal? Why do all the affiliates say I have traffic but GA says I have none?

As you said you re-designed you site, first make sure that the GA codes are still on your theme.

Sorry to ask/repeat the obvious, but do you actually have the tracking code for Analytics installed on your site?

There can't really be any other reason for it.

While Webmaster Tools only needs validation and takes its data from Google's SERPs and various crawlers, Analytics requires that you embed a tracking code comprising of a few lines of JavaScript among the HTML of all pages you'd like to count towards your stats, because a lot of its data derives from visitors' browsers. You can even do this semiautomatically if you use a CMS like Wordpress.

Nope - didn't know there was a tracking code I needed to install (other than the code from G Webmaster). Will try to find put how to do this from the GA site. Thanks for your replies - I figured I must have been doing something wrong.

ps - it's a static website created with Dreamweaver - it's not a Wordpress site

Put the tracking code in and wait about a week. You'll get some nice data back.
