    Hello Greedy,

I'd suggest some external hard drives (at least two - one to back up, one to back up the back up), a few flash drives for easy portability, a printer and scanner are always handy. Also, a physical notebook and some pens/pencils for taking notes (that you want a hard copy of), especially for Webinars and such.

Good luck rebuilding your home office!

    Take care,

    Depend your job scope,
i prefer to have a whiteboard and allow you to draw your plan , schedule something on it.
a calculator and one notepad .
Because i believe sometime a physical stationary is work more efficient and motivate.
If all depend on one tools, sometime will end with mess and don't know where should start.

Like others have said, backup harddrives are important.
A sweet chair to avoid back problems, a footstool maybe?
Physical products such as pen and paper
    Whiteboard

external hard drive, definitely! I almost lost some of my data, so I have learned my lesson and always have a backup.

My home office moved into a "regular" office last may (2012) so now I have NO office at home. I did this to SEPERSTE my "work" from my domestic life.

It's kind of a matter of preference but for me, it's great to actually have a dedicated office. Plus, I have an assistant and now she doesn't have to come to the house.

She has "an office, in the office".

    Retail office space is CHEAP.

    I'm quite basic.

As long as I have my comfy chair, speakers and a mini fridge I'm all good lol.

I have a desktop PC that cost me just over £2,000 so a fan is required at times as it does get rather hot in the room and a picture of my girlfriend on my desk to remind me of all the reasons why I am doing this

Mini keyboard (numpads are not necessary).

    Comfortable chair.

I work from my dining room table, so a router for a wireless network is essential. Notebook, pen and paper, printer, cell phone, external hard drive and internet access,

Oh and of course a kettle

Yep, same here...working from my dining table. I have a big whiteboard on top of the fridge, which I use to monitor my projects. Two notebooks, flashdrives, pens, and that's it. The kitchen is attached to the dining so the kettle and all that are within arms' reach.

I'd also suggest a tablet for convenience. You can easily move around the house doing email or other tasks. It can't replace a desktop/laptop, but it is handy. I really like having mine around so that I can keep an eye on my 4 year old and still work.

My only other suggestion would be one of those Bozo punching clowns - great stress reliever!

    Regards,

I recommend you don't bring all that stuff into the office.

You need to encourage yourself to take regular breaks and having everything on hand will remove the need for those breaks.

You should get in the habit of getting up and moving once an hour. Just for five minutes. Go and grab a glass of water or stand outside and get some fresh air.

I would stay AWAY from the mini-fridge in the office! Remind yourself to get up out of the chair at least every hour, stretch your back and legs and walk for a glass of water. Too many back, neck and shoulder issues from sitting at the computer all day.

Increase your productivity by getting up every hour to stretch and get the blood moving.

Also, I would not get a whiteboard but would use whiteboard paint on one wall. Now it sits flush against the wall, doesn't glare, no extra heavy board to hang and you can use it as a back drop for video

    ENJOY the new office!

You need physical stuff to build your business, most importantly you need a plan and a budget.

Get some cool LED lighting, I've got some in my studio - dimmable (if that's a word) and cost effective!

You could get RGB and choose a particular colour depending on your mood!

Wow! Your home office is a lot better than mine. I agree to their suggestions but, once you have everything you need within reach, you'll get lazy, won't get up or walk away for a bit which is very important. This will help restore circulation of your blood. You need to take a break once in a while...
