What's happened to my Income?

Hey Everyone-

So, I'm just looking for some opinions here... I have 2 different youtube videos ranked Page1 Position 1... for my keywords.. then they have an affiliate link in the description etc.. I was consistently making about 70 dollars a week off of these 2 videos... for about 3 months straight..

Now, boom! All of my sales have completely stopped.. My videos are still in the exact same postion, and I havent changed anything... Any ideas on why all of a sudden I havent had a sales conversion in almost 3 weeks now?

Thanks for any opinions or suggestions!

  • Things go in and out of popularity. Justin Beiber will die out. Fans will grow tired, new ones will come. Parkour used to be bigger than it is now on Youtube, though it's evolved. Trends they change and grow. You've got to produce more.

Are you still receiving the same number of views?

If so...did YouTube maybe change how links are displayed?

If not, it's probably as Fibonacci stated...you're no longer "en vogue"

May be there are too much negative reviews of that what you promote?

The position is the same you say, but do you still get the same clicks to your video/aff link as before?

Is your product from clickbank? If yes I heard from many people complaining like you with suddenly droping sales. And some say that they got normally sales they had after creating a new clickbank account.. If its a clickbank product, make a try

There are many posts about this, search on google "clickbank stealing sales"

Yea this has happened to me in the pas...you just have to keep creating more YouTube "assets" as I like to call them...

It happens. I have videos that consistently rank in the same spots for months and sometimes they make consistent sales week in week out and other times nothing for a few weeks at a time.

Sometimes it happens. One reason could be that there is a newer or better product from a competitor and people are no longer interested in it. Just my 2 cents here

    A valuable lesson for you.

Diversify. Relying on one thing will only ever lead to disappointment.

Also, someone may have released a negative review about the product you are trying to sell. If I do a Google search and I find a few videos at the top of the search results and all the rest are negative reviews about the product - I won't buy the product or even bother watching the video.

The youtube angle is definitely not the set it and forget type of thing. You have to expect this type of a situation. The key is to constantly be uploading more videos, stay ahead of the curve my friend. Don't limit yourself to one niche either, you don't have to with the YouTube scene. Most importantly, don't give up.
    Here's to your success,

Better yet don't focus 100% on something you have no control over like YT. YT is great for traffic and you can make some nice money from ranking videos pointing to affiliate offers but you're at Google / YTs mercy.

Better to diversify your income than rely just on gaming YTs algorithms. It'll come to an end eventually.

I also think it`s a trends issue. If you still receive the same traffic, also check the offer advertised. Does it still work, is it still available ? It has the same price ?

There are very few true "set and forget" opportunities. At some point, something is going to be different and that difference will drastically affect your results.

What's different? Who knows? It could be a variety of things. Enjoy the profits but keep putting out new quality content.

Try clearing your cache and then see if your video is still showing on the first position of page 1.

If i were you i would check my affiliate account to see if the clicks and impressions are still there.

Then i will click on my link to see if it follows through.

Its called the old pump and dump my friend... quite literally there is nothing you can do besides hang on by the cusp of your britches & diversify in 2013! You said it all in your original post, you had 2 videos making a little dough, and you were riding it out for months... Im surprised it lasted that long really, depending on the niche, but don't throw all your eggs in one basket unless you are not planning on making IM your full time bill payment method Niche Marketing, regardless of the medium in which you promote/advertise it to get sales, is at the whim of an algorithm which has 50 pd crack rocks injected straight into it, so if you find a method that works for you - DIVERSIFY, if you can remember that one simple concept from me in 2013 your time reading this dolled up post will not have been ill spent! (haha some of u might get that, maybe not)
But regardless - seek out new niches, regroup & attack, as long as you learn from each failure and keep going, you'll be alright, but don't go back to relying on 2 videos please and wondering what happened to your earnings after months, I implore you! o_O
