Helping out a designer friend

My friend is a graphic designer with some awesome Photoshop, Corel Draw skills. He likes designing brochures, wedding cards, business cards, etc. We are from India.

I thought of suggesting Bob Ross's Print Profits method, but wanted to find out if there are any other good business models. He's looking at projects that can sell at $600-750.

I think he's better off dealing with offshore clients as he'll get paid more due to the exchange of dollar compared to India.

Why doesn't he offer to serve clients and offer Bob Ross's method as an added service? People will happily pay for that handy info if they see value in it.

I have no idea of what Ross's method is but I made a good living on Elance freelancing graphic design for about 6 years. If he has an outstanding portfolio, he doesn't need to price his bids with the bottom dwellers there.

Agreed - maybe he can come up with a micro-product to sell on Fiverr. Or, he can build a portfolio and get himself up on ELance and oDesk.
