Screen capture software for Windows on iMac

INTERNET MARKETING

I have an iMac with Windows 7 running under Parallels. I fancy doing some training videos of some Windows apps and wondered what software you would use. Would you get something that is for the Mac that also works with Windows under Parallels? Or would you get one app for Windows and one for Mac?

I have done this exact same thing before and what worked for me was using ScreenFlow to record everything. It can handle much longer recordings than Camtasia (PC) and to me, much easier and more full featured than Camtasia.

Also, if you have a separate PC, you can also use TeamViewer to connect the two computers, which allows you to run through your APP demo on the PC, while your iMac will be recording everything that happens via TeamViewer. This is less taxing on your iMac resources, but either way will be fine.

Can you snap the screen size to either the window you are recording in Windows inside Parallels or do you just have to approximate by dragging wire-frame edges?

Camtasia Studio 8 is great , you can take screen photo or record video easily

Screenflow doesn't work that way. You record the entire screen, then take the portion you want during the editing.

Noooooooooo.... not in the scenario described by the @OP. Way too much demand on computer memory this way.

This is my main gripe with Camtasia, once I get towards the end of editing a video of a decent length, my computer starts buckling under the load. It means that it trebles the time it would normally take to edit the video were the software running optimally.
