I have been reading up in IM over the last few weeks and thought that I would give affiliate marketing a try. I researched amazons a bit and was ready to sign up but found out that I was in a state on the naughty list, Minnesota. So apparently I can't join their affiliate program.

Now I work in North Dakota and it would seem that if I used my work address all would be fine but I am not sure if that would cause major issues. Anyone have any input if I could sign up for amazons affiliate program using my work address?

Is there any other affiliate programs out there that are as highly trusted as amazon? I would like to begin the IM journey but want to get off on the right foot. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It depends on what you're trying to promote, but ClickBank is great if you're okay with promoting digital products instead of physical ones...

Personally I would not use ClickBank. Most of the products are inferior and too easy to steal affiliate links.

Do yourself a favor before getting too far down the road.

Find one of two things (ideally one thing that happens to be both).

    1. Something you enjoy
    2. Something you're an expert in (or at least know more than someone searching for an answer).

Now do the following - Search some reputable affiliate sites (commission junction, share a sale, linkshare, etc). and see if there are programs available to promote. I'm sure there will be.

    Now the fun part.

Start a website and do the following:

    1. Get great content on the site (write it or pay for it but make sure it's good), I'd recommend a ratio of about 4:1 information to "promotion" articles. Don't try to sell to your readers in every article.

    2. Make sure you build an email list from day 1. I personally put a sign-up box at the end of every article and the top right side bar. Both are tasteful and convert well typically.

    3. Create a sales funnel and automate your earnings. Provide your email list a lot of value, again maybe 3:1 value to promo. You should be building trust, authority, etc.

    4. Only promote products you believe in. Buy them, use them, read them, whatever, but do not promote crap.

    5. Test everything and track the results.

Once you get all that stuff done focus on driving traffic to the site. There's a million ways to do it, and it's the most important and hardest IMO.

Don't buy shiny toys, WSOs, and silver bullets. They don't exist. All the knowledge you need is right here for free.

    Good luck.

      This is solid advice.

If you wanted to jump on a product before it is released (less competition = easier to rank your website) google "Jv notify pro" and sign up for a free account on their website.

You could then create a review website on the product that you decide to promote.

Use SEO to rank that website for your keyword.

      Goodluck!
