What's Up With This Clickbank Policy???
I have recently opened a new clickbank vendor account for a new product.
The product domain name has the brand name "twitter" in it.
I was told by Clickbank the following:
Hello, Due to updated ClickBank rules to help resolve potential trademark issues, it will be necessary to obtain a new domain to sell your, "Twitter," product with ClickBank.com. We are unable to accept products whose pitch page and thankyou page URL's use a top level domain containing a major brand such as "Twitter". You are welcome to use the brand name as an extension, but it cannot be used in the actual domain. An example of an acceptable URL you could use would be, http://mydomain.com/twitter. Thanks, |
First of all....are they for real?
There has been an array of new twitter products on Clickbank with the brand name in the domain name. Why am I not allowed???
Secondly, where and when did this policy update begin?
Thirdly, does this policy effect vendor's who market "clickbank", "Google", "MSN" brand names in their domain names?????
Every week there is a new "clickbank [whatever]" product coming out. Not to even mention all the "Google [this]" products.
Can anybody shed some light?
I don't want to rant on Clickbank, I'm just trying to understand this whole thing. I mean, I have a couple of older Clickbank vendor accounts on them. Are they only disallowing new ACCOUNTS as to new products?
What's up?
Kind regards,
Reinhardt
