Does the author have to do the copyright stuff in the beginning of his book, or the publisher?

I'm writing a Amazon kindle book right now, and I got a table of contents, but I don't know whether to put in the copyright stuff myself, or to leave it to the Amazon Direct Publishing

It's up to you to include your own copyright declaration. Why not look at some other books on Kindle to see the best place to position it?

As far as I know, it's mainly the authors who do that, at least for an eBook. It might be the other way for a physical book.

I think you can do everything by yourself, than if there are some special requirements, Amazon will notify you about it in the setup page.

Since it's self-publishing, it's going to be your information towards the beginning.

As was mentioned, it's always a good idea to just look at a couple other books and see how they format it.

You should include a copyright page in the front matter of your ebook, generally right after the title page.

Amazon isn't going to do it for you. It's your book - make it professional.

As Annie said, find some other books and see how they have included the information regarding copyright.

Look at the books you own. Isn't the copyright page always in the same place?

I put mine on the first page with the title, that's a pretty normal place to put it. Truthfully, almost nobody is going to read it, because it doesn't really make any difference to them.

In the US once you publish something you own the copyright to it. its nice to put it in your book because all books have them, but don't worry about where it goes.
