Squeeze Page too Complicated?

Hey Everyone,

My idea for a squeeze page is that I will promote I free item that I am giving them for a email submit to my website. When my visitors come to my squeeze page and enter a email, is this the same thing as having an account with my webpage? If not can I make it so it is the same so that way it is not too redundant to have them email submit for squeeze then create an account where I will inevitably receive their email? What has been the best luck for everyone on their squeeze page? and also can I create the squeeze page in wordpress?

As always, Thank you for the replies and the help!

-Joe

Not entirely sure I understand your question Joe - but typically the form that you include on your squeeze page is a form generated by an autoresponder such as GetResponse, Aweber, 1ShoppingCart, etc... that handles subscriber management (subscriptions and requests to leave the list automatically) as well as giving you the ability to create automated email follow-ups (such as a welcome email, email with a link to your freebie item, additional back-end emails to market paid products, etc...) and to broadcast (send one-time blasts) to your list

Thanks for the quick response Jeff,

maybe I have a misinterpretation with what a squeeze page is then, so If I cannot create this in wordpress, how is it that I can incorporate it into my wordpress webpage!

Let me help a little here...

A squeeze page is a page on your website dedicated to capturing a lead/action.

Your squeeze page will have an opt-in box that can be used to capture an email address or other contact information.

You will then need some way of storing those email addresses and sending them emails.

Services like Aweber and GetResponse are what most newer marketers go with... Aweber has a $1 trial and GetResponse has a 30 day free trial.

For designing your squeeze page, you have all sorts of options... many are free, some are not. I like LeadPages.net... Their paid service is affordable and it's super easy to create high-converting pages. They even have some nice templates (landing pages, thank you pages, etc.)

        Here's a link:

        Hope this helps!

Your squeeze page is typically made up of a headline, some body text, perhaps a video - this can all be developed as a WP page (either manually or using a plugin or theme like Optimize Press for example) - as part of that page you embed some code that is automatically generated by your autoresponder - some themes like OP already have the code and simply ask for a few pieces of information from your autoresponder campaign while others you will need to cut and paste the code right from your autoresponder.

At the end of the day, you need some mailing program to handle taking the subscription, managing your list, sending emails out to subscribers, etc...

The main advantage of the squeeze page - at the end of the day - is building your list.

The generally accepted idea of a squeeze page is to keep it simple, with no distractions such as ads or links or too much text. You just want to capture their email address. You should have enough text or a video to get your message accross, often provided a give-away which has some value and then the call to action - give the email and submit.

Use you autoresponder to than market to your list members. I use GetResonse. Provide value in your follow-up emails. Do not just bombard them with selling type email or they will leave your list.

It sounds like you want a squeeze page AND a membership website?

Follow the advice of the above posters for the squeeze page. Another tool aside from the ones mentioned is Epic Squeeze Page. It's a wordpress plugin. It's not free, but it has some pretty cool features.

For a membership site, a simple way to build one is through Optimize Press. The benefit of Optimize Press is that you can create your membership site AND squeeze pages (and sales pages too).
