Wow so I get like 25 visitors per day to my website

I've recently completely dropped the idea that I was going for before, which was a blog about how I quit my job and became a musician for a living. The site was "monetized" through eBooks and some affiliate links. I hardly ever made anything from the site though. I felt as if I was in a very weird and non-lucrative "niche" if you could even call it that (musicians that are looking to become self-employed so that they can have more time to play music).

...However I noticed I'm getting some steady small amounts of traffic. Plus, some people are downloading my free eBook and joining my list (which I never followed through with as far as setting up a nice autoresponder sequence, so it essentially does nothing).

I'm wondering if I should continue focusing on my new (hopefully more lucrative) project or should I take this as a sign that something is working?

Thoughts?

What can I say, people like music and often follow artist. Work on both, you can always find time.

Instead of trying to monetize that traffic at the point of entry (your blog), make a connection with those visitors before the monetization attempts. Write up a simple report your audience will get some value out of and give it away from your blog. Use a pop-up sign-up box and/or a prominently displayed sign-up box on every page of your blog.

Now you'll capture a % of your visitors' emails and can contact them multiple times from that one visit. And you will have given them something of value, making them more likely to be receptive to your attempts to build a relationship. The trust will be there because you gave them something at the beginning. Law of Reciprocity.

Now you have a means to sell over and over to the same people, even as your list grows, expanding your reach.

If you can't produce your own stuff to sell them and you can't find a lot of stuff out there to promote as an affiliate, you're in the wrong niche.

Well I do have a free sign up and a free giveaway (3 eBooks, 1 of which is 85 pages long). I do get people signing up. However I never really set up an autoresponder series. Maybe I should do that...

Then again I just feel like the niche is just not a great "money maker"...it's just kinda like "oh that's cool, but I'm not pulling my wallet out for any reason here on this site".

Sounds like you're answering your own question then. I'd go with your gut feeling on this one.

Try to do what John Schwartz said, add follow up message to your autoresponder and try to build as much as list possible..

I believe you can focus on building list which is building any way, move to the next one which you want to do, give some time there and see whether that is more worth than this, cause in meantime your list is also growing..

I hope you got me what i am trying to say..
