Investor.guru domain appraisal.

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm currently selling investor.guru and I need some quick domain appraisals. Many seem interested, I listed up in flippa.com. I'm guessing it could be worth at least $3,000, though could could be worth more maybe up towards $5,000. I'm not good at appraisals, can someone throw in a number. Preferably an expert.

No offense but IMO your "guess" is probably off by a few thousand dollars.
The new TLD's have no history, just like those that came before the fad fades and you are stuck with them.

For the domain alone, no website, traffic, income etc you wont get anywhere near 4 figures....

  How can you be so sure, I had up to 33 watchers on Flippa, and I've been told this domain would be of good value for stock investors. Are you buying into the myth that all these new extensions are worthless, cause truth is, not all of them are(most are worthless). Investor.guru along with Biz.guru is probably the best domain in the .guru extension.

  .guru draws parallels to .pro in using the extension to qualify knowledge of the keyword.
  
  broker.pro $1,850 2010
  finance.pro $5,500 2010
  
  .guru will likely draw less interest than .pro. It's hard enough to value domains, let alone compare two relatively obscure extensions. Based on available data and looking forward I would say investor.guru likely sells for mid $xx to low $xxx and tops out at mid $xxx.

  It isn't in the same league as Finance.guru, Health.guru, Travel.guru, etc... Those are likely worth low to mid $x,xxx.

The value depends on your ability to find just the right buyer. I wouldn't have paid the registration fee for this domain myself.

  Hope you're successful with that, but that's very much like playing the lottery. You should be researching possible prospective buyers, via Google or forums that cater to investors, etc.

Got to be honest, if I were to looking for a stocks/investment domain with the TLD GURU I'd want something that sounded good with the word Guru after it, Investor is not that.

Investment.guru
Investing.guru
Investments.guru

Those are slightly better. But even so, they have no history, no one knows how these TLDs will be treated in the SERPs nor how they will respond to the general public. Will they get to your domain or end up on the .com version by way of habit?

Like Gene, I wouldn't have paid $30, let alone $3,000... But good luck!

  No, not lying. But I came to the realization that this domain isn't worth 50k, so I switched it to 9k. I don't know if it's worth that much, I don't care.

  Appraisals mean zilch. It's worth whatever someone at the time is willing to pay for it . . . depending on their specific requirements and exactly how much that domain extension would mean to them.
  
  I suggest you wait the 30 days (as you specified), and suck it and see. Touting for ball-park figures on here is a futile exercise, and a complete waste of time.

These domains are just rolling over and will not worth that much. You will be lucky to make few hundreds, if you want your domain to be worthy you got to wait few years

I see that so far someone thinks it is worth $75. It may not go any higher but then again you never know about domains. All you need is two egotistical bidders trying to outbid each other. The reason I say egotistical is because I can't imagine anyone in a serious profession proclaiming themselves as a guru.
