    In what way?

    As an affiliate?

    As a Kindle author?

    Selling physical products?

Which way were you specifically looking to make money on Amazon?

I'm making descent semi-passive money with amazon review sites, harder to scale up then first expected. I'm now looking into more stable long term models like authority site + list building.

Some people are killing amazon affiliates with article marketing and offline marketing, and also list building.

Being an Amazon affiliate is like running any other business. They key to success is the value you give to consumers. We drive about 50% of our visitors through our social media efforts, the rest is direct or from organic search. (Our advertising budget is essentially zero.) Since anything on your site they could get at Amazon anyway, you need to give people a reason to shop on your site instead of on Amazon. I suppose you could try to dominate search rankings on certain things, but my strategy is focused on delivering a great customer experience in order to drive repeat visits and customer referrals (our number one search term by far is our site's name, so I know people are looking for us). For that you need a good looking and easy to use site, but more importantly, your customers need to trust you and your recommendations.

I should also mention that this is far, far from passive income. It takes a lot of work every single day to do it my way.

Amazon sites do work but it takes a lot of sales to make the big money due to the low commission rates. I am making some money with Amazon but no where near where I would like to be.

There are more than 500 WSO's listed with the word "Amazon" in the title.

Key concept: Amazon affiliate marketing is affiliate marketing. There are some differences from other types because of the low commissions and therefore the need for high conversion-rates (and the fact that everyone's already heard of "Amazon" helps with that), but all the fundamental concepts of affiliate marketing still apply. Specifically, what produces the conversions tends to be the strength of the trust-based relationship between the person making the recommendation and the prospective customer. It's easy to send "traffic" to an Amazon sales page, but to send "traffic that buys" it's far easier when that traffic comprises people who already trust you. For people "wanting to read something about it", the thread linked to in post #6 above is as good a starting-place as a WSO - and hey, don't look now but it's free.
