Mobile site for local business, best way?

Hey,

trying to create a mobile version of the website of a friend who owns a local business. His site is HTML, so no Wordpress plugins can be used.

Any recommendations on what tools or services to use?

Not sure about tools but you can just create a new CSS file that reformats the current site to a mobile version. Easiest and best way.

I see loads and loads of programs being marketed for mobile websites; and the CSS method would mean long loading times since the user is being shows a site that wasn't made for small screens or mobile access.

Is there no tool that has proven itself over the years?

Curious how old the website is. Nothing wrong with HTML only site if you can maintain it but everything is really going to responsive design which means you have a single website and it adjusts based on screen size. Check out Twitter Bootstrap or Foundation.

A thing to be concerned about with the mobile plugins/apps/sites is whether, when it detects a mobile device, does it just take you to the home page or to the actual page they are looking for. Not only is it annoying for visitors, Google has taken notice of it as well.

The reason I point this out is you might be better off starting from scratch and creating something mobile responsive versus trying to throw a "mobile" site on top of the existing one.

    Hey OnlineStoreHelp,

from what I've heard he plans on using some plugin his webhoster offers; for now I'm only responsible for design.
So, ignoring this issue, is there anything you can recommend? I've seen that many mobile website generators being offered in WSOs, Clickbank products and whatnot that there has to be SOMETHING workable out. No recommendations?

I suggest you migrate the HTML site to WordPress. It's always easier with the WordPress plugins. The platform is a lot more flexible as well.

Have a look at my sig. Exactly what my software does. Normally I wouldn't post like this but it is directly on point.

Whatever you do and however you choose to do it, you should keyword-target your campaigns.

One of my favorites has got to be ezmobilesitegenerator.

      |It's a WP plugin that you allows you to download an html version of the site and upload it to another site/host.

You can still buy it here: ezmobile as a WSO I think it is up to version 4 or so now.

      Not an affiliate link.

I would recommend just changing the code and setting up
