Using classified ads to drive traffic

I looked a little bit into driving traffic with classified ads but I don't really get the hang of how to do that with sites like craigslist, does anyone have any good information on this?

You can post links to your site, although they will not auto link people can copy and paste or type them, you could also leave an email address and phone number.

You definitely want to avoid putting any links or email addresses in the text portion of your ads. This will lead to flagging especially with links since Craigslist does not want the traffic leakage off their site. It's best to embed emails or links on any accompanying image. Also avoid using html like clickable images, bold or bullet points.

To start, you need to determine which city or cities you're going to post an ad. If you're a service provider, you can identify available cities on Craigslist that encompass your service region.

Classified ad sites could give you good backlinks. So the strategy is soild. As for direct traffic from the classified ad, that is difficult to determine, as there are a number of factors. My two sense!

Try getting a reliable PVA to do that for you. It's troublesome to post on Craigslist because your ads gets taken down a lot of time.

Okay so let's say I am a service provider.. I do coaching and I sell solo ads. And I can do this to any one in the world. If I where to do a classified ad about this I would have to do that in every city then, am I correct?

If your selling coaching what kind of coaching is it?

I feel your going about this all wrong. Its about targeting the service/product to the correct crowd.

Think of if you joined an ad network to pay for advertising the last thing you will do is have your banner pasted across all sites, demographics, age groups and so on.

So narrow down who you want to sell to and search for where those people are.

Advertise the service in front of them and go from there.

Total waste of time. You need Highly Targeted traffic and you will only get that from places like WF classifieds and other Internet marketing related sites.

CL is for people with legitimate ads to post and scamers. You don't have legit (CL won't think so) ads and I'm hoping you're not a scamer. But you are advertising solo ads and asking very basic newbie advertising questions so...

Heads Up: Craigslist can be a royal pain these days to try to get ads to stick - especially if your niche is very competitive. This is due to a lot of knucklehead competitors unfairly flagging the ads of their competition. Some even use all type of bots to do this. So just be aware of this.

Classified Ads CAN be a GOOD source of traffic if it is Targeted correctly.

HOWEVER, due to people misusing Craigslist all the time it has become spammy and more strict .

Lets not forget though that there are TONS of OTHER good classifieds sites out there besides CL !

Frankly, CL and the likes are just full of spam. Those that do drive traffic from them keep posting every couple of hours across multiple cities to remain visible (which is spamming too) and for that you need bots that are smarter than CL. I personally do not like the idea of driving traffic from spam posts and I don't know of any better way to remain visible on such sites.

I tried free classified ads before and the only one that got me somewhat good results is Craigslist.

I used to create simple Images that I could load up in an Ad with HTML Coding - but CL changed all that.

The way I was able to get some free leads from CL after that - is by buying a very simple domain name like: "gohere [dot] com" - then writing a nice & sweet Ad Copy and then tell people to go to gohere [dot] com

I hope you get what Im saying here!

I have been able to get a lot of free leads doing this on Craigslist alone!

    Hope this helps!

    I wish you the best!

I personally recommend that you go with PPC and solo ads.

Free classified ads really get you nowhere or even really slow.

With paid ads, you will see good and fast results.

The only classified ad site that i've seen that is worth any good amount of time dealing with is craigslist. Other than that, good luck. I hope you have some furniture or TV's or something to sell there because i doubt that you will get a flood of traffic from there. And i doubt that you will get a ton of sales there in your city with your info product too. And dont think about blasting an ad on every city on that site.

I think the classified ads is a good way to get the targeted traffic. Such as your targeted countries, people see your ad & visit. I think it is the best way. All traffic can not increase your sell. Only the targeted traffic can increase your sell, there is no doubt about it. So Any way you must increase your targeted visitor.

I like to think of classified sites as a great resource to find people that are selling stuff. Most people that post on classified sites check their ads.

If you can get something in front of them that will help them and their sales business, bingo you have customers.

There are many free classified sites to choose from most of them have good traffic some have great traffic. It's all about the ad.

The key to being successful that way is keywords. You want the search engines to pick up your classified listing.

I use classifieds to post ebay cars for sale sometimes. I don't generate much traffic from classifieds, but being that it is free it is worth doing if you have the right product. For what you are selling, I would try to use relevant forums and a signature along with youtube videos. One technique that some people do is watch youtube video statistics and choose viral video owners to send an email offering to pay them a small amount in return for them putting their affiliate link in the video description.

I'd advise you to use CL or other classifieds, but not only. I mean your CL ad should take the visitor to your squeeze page or landing page. So that you could advertise your service and collect leads at the same time. And of course, avoid inserting your email or phone into the ad text, rather create various images with contact info.

it really depends on what niche you're in.

if you're in the biz opp/mmo niche then you can actually
make some serious coins promoting in the paid cities
    on sites like craigslist.

it's one of the strategies we use on one of my job site funnels.

We make a lot of cpa commissions on the backend by promoting
job related, education related, and make money related offers.

Well, actually it's quite impossible to drive traffic from classified sites. Because, classified sites are designed to delver direct impact on advertisements (like- Phone calls, email response, etc.) not to redirect other sites. Although, there are many classified sites which allows to put links, still those are not so effective.

I've already tested this on some of popular classified sites like OLX, Quikr (paid ads) but, we didn't receive sufficient traffic from there.

I made several sales with Usfreeads but it worked this way for me: I write a review article on some launching product and it ranks in Google. I get visitors direct from Google and make sales.

I checked it recently and there is a notification that they do not accept affiliate ads anymore.

As for craigslist, I think some gurus created some software to autopost ads. I saw it in Jvzoo.
