Keywords

Over the years I have changed my main keywords a few times based on google keyword search and now I guess it is called keyword planner. Most of the time the keyword I changed to was a variation of what I already was using but google of course said people were typing in this now.

The problem I am having is this. I am still on page one for what my home page keywords are but google keyword planner says there are only about 10 searches for it a month. However I don't believe there stats because I get still well over 500 views to my home page a month so what are they typing it to get to my homepage since google rarely tell us what people are using as keywords.

The other thing is I really don't like google keyword planner I don't think it works right and I have played with a bit just to see what comes up and so often what I get for suggestion just don't make sense. One day while playing I typed in dog food and most of the top keywords they were showing me didn't have anything to do with dog food and I didn't understand why or why I was getting they keywords they were showing.

Then the other thing is all the other programs I use to help me find keywords all have switched over to using keyword planner for there reference point.

I want to keep up with what people are asking for as time changes and if people are going from asking how to buy a new car to how to buy an new automobile that is what I would change to if I were selling cars but what if the keywords google is showing me makes no sense, where else do I go.
