What makes people crowd into a restaurant breaking the isolation rules with their kids with no face masks?


Why did it take me so long to embrace listbuilding and continued to swim upstream like a salmon for years?


Why did I keep trying to fix my self haircut until I was damn near bald when the initial plug would have grown back much faster.

  • Not sure what you are referring to - but my guess is they are tired of 'sheltering in place'- their area is opening up - and they believe they are as important as the other people in the 'crowd'.

    My question: Why would you expect people in a RESTAURANT to be wearing masks? So many people i've seen with masks don't seem to 'get' the point of the face covering as they are continually touching/adjusting the outside of the mask with their hands.


    You resisted list building (my guess) because it is 'connected' - you are out in front of people with your list and some of us don't like that part.


    As for your hair - no idea. I've just let mine grow for now. Odd as I had just had about 10 inches of hair cut off just before this pandemic mess.
    Bright side - if you are still staying hoime, no one sees your hair.

  • there are risks to being alive ..yes it might be safe to sit in your house but there is no points for the person with "they got here safely " on their grave stone .

    it not compulsive behaviour .. it is normal healthy human behavior ..

    there are risks to living ..a lot of people understand that and are willing to push for crowd immunity ..

    what people do for work to earn their living ..is how they define themselves to others .. if you have been deemed non essential..and have to now break the law to earn money..there are a lot more risks you will take ..to have a life ..when you see nothing wrong with what you are doing ..but the authorities want to stop you ..

    I have gone through it ..we will probably see a type of anarchy or soft anarchy like the error where alcholol was banned and buying it was breaking the law ..

    One of my all time favorite D.J.s is The Greaseman.

    A shock Jock for sure. He did so many entertaining skits for the Morning Rush Hour. I would be rolling on the floor.

    He would do him and his pappy as rednecks. Clint Eastwood tough guy character as a gay. Sgt Greasmanelli in the middle of combat.

    He had words for sex and pleasing women like Hobble Doo Ga Ga. and Gobble Doo Gee.

    One day I actually met him in a restaurant in Virginia.... D.C, Maryland and Virginia you can go to all 3 in 20 mins!

    But anyway I went up to him and asked him hey Grease have you been hobblin and gobblin?

    He smiled and said "Even as we speak my face is Glistening like a Glazed Doughnut!

    Made my day.

    He has some youtube videos of a few skits still up.

    Then one day I was in utter shock to find he threw his entire Million Dollar career down the toilet with an offensive racial comment that he could not recover from.

    Why would someone put it on the line for a joke and an incredibly offensive one to boot?

    I created this thread just so we all can take a moment and reflect on how we can keep our own compulsive behaviors under control. Because if we don't someone else will try to.

    There is a Mail Bomber in jail right now and he is wondering damn how the hell did this happen? I was not one before?

    Somebody pressed the buttons that were vulnerable to manipulation.

    Another Country said forget Nukes we do not need them. They made a Weapon out of people's compulsive behavior and alot of people were easily manipulated.

    • now the manipulation is just called marketing or behavioral economics ..but the more skilled the marketer the less actual manipulaion they need to do ..as the data each person creates is what manipulates the marketing and advertising they will see ,

      on the other hand face book you tube and google and others can manipulate the algorythyms so that they can keep their communities safe from way to edgy ideas ..on the other hand doing that might just draw more attention to those being censored ..

      in the post corona virus world ..that is not going to have the go to school get good grade ..got to college get a good degree to have a good carreer and buy a house ..then eventually retire .. expected life path ..

      it will be the paying customer who manipulates the entire chain or web of supplies ..

      and to delve into real compulsive behaviour .. the video game industry had 120 billion in revenue in 2019 .. much og that revenue coming from micro purchases and free to play games if you play any games at all .. it is basically the spend 2$ no or 5 dollars now .. get diamonds ..

      tha kind of thing .. where 20 years ago .. it was release another 60 dollar game every few years and sell as many as you can .. or 15 years ago with world of warcraft the monthly subscription model ..

    A Wave Of Radicalized Influencers Is Mainstreaming COVID-19 Conspiracy Theories

    We should pay attention how we are marketed to. I do all the time.

    I am just a truth seeker. I shared a link in another forum that was having a COVID discussion but it is rather hard to have a discussion on COVID while walking on eggshells and labled as a basher if you mention the guy in charge of the Pandemic!

    The forum owner considered any utterance of the leader of the Pandemic as "Bashing" and bias. Facts..out the window.


    Matter of fact that link I just shared above would be banned on his forum with a discussion on the exact subject.

    But hey his forum his rules. I can dig it. I really rather focus on Entrepreneurship.

    What he really did is show his own Bias and he went down several pegs in my book.

    A shame because I really held him in high regard before that.

    • If I was back over in the Philippines and my girlfriend or wife suddenly wanted chocolate ice cream it would take a small amount of manipulation for her to get me to go get it

      I am afraid to go back she has gotten better at manipulating me over the years we have been chatting. But I have been working on the parts of my personality that blow things up before I go back.

      Even if I had the money..it could be a year or more.it could be two to four months to renew my passport which expiered in March.

      But before I go back I want to get back to Arizona and buy a big chunk of land build a life where I live in the states during the warm/hot months then go over to the Philippines and live near the ocean December to March.

    Over here they have Sim Cards you can load as you need, both for Cells and Laptops WiFi and I can use them in each.

    The Cell Sim comes with a Free Gig each day for Video. Which eats up so much bandwidth but everything and everybody going Video these days!

    So I try not to waste it but it is causing its own Compulsive Behavior in Video Watching. Always starts with Marketing and ends up with Music which is Nutrients for the Soul.

    But I get back to work once my allotment is used up so its under control.

    • i tend to only watch video now..and article or written information seems to either be behind a pay wall..or on a screen loading up 100 different adds so the text im trying to read is moving up and down the screen..

      but youtube is starting to be intolerable with the comercials every three minutes that double up if you don't skip them ..

      and as for compulsive behaviors ..the people who believe gold backed money i the only proper money ..and have been saying the collapse of the fait money was close at hand sence we went on fiat money ..are sure this time it the end of the US dollar and the return of gold backed money..or even the rise of crypto ..

    This has been a interesting week. I actually have been very attentive to my own behaviors much closely now. Some good some bad.

    Doing a different work other than what you planned can still be procrastination for one ha.

    Even when I was trapped in Cubicle Life 9 to 5 I was known for always washing my hands.

    The office gossip was that I was going in there to do some Tootin. (sniffing the nose candy)

    They knew I was a gym freak but I guess chronic hand washing was just too boring to fathom.

    Who knew how popular it would become!

    These people display Nooses. It is obvious what they are even if they seem clueless to it themselves.




    You are definitely in the wrong part of the country - our groceries here have been well stocked and no empty shelves for many weeks now. MOST of our restaurants are re-opening....2/3 of the eateries here are NOT closed for good. Not surprising theaters and concerts would be off the table for now. Cities here are making an effort to help businesses re-open by allow 'social distancing' to expand into some closed-off streets or sidewalks outside. The 50% occupancy is difficult - those states with 25% occupancy limits are killing their own businesses.

    What I've noticed this week is that many people are reluctant to LEAVE the pandemic mentality. We can't allow the panic mode to become the norm.

    • I know i'm in the wrong part of the country ..at least my brother is back on his feet and it might be a year before he can get surgery on his other ankle ..now i just need the rmv's to open up so i can get a brand new id.

      I was ready to start walking accroos the country a few days ago..but it just colder outside here than i want to be and if there has been a noticable change in my tone the last few months..it is due to the cold and the cabin fever ..

      i would honestly be happier sitting outside under a tree in 110 degree heat ..when i do move in a few month i should have some money in he bank..

      two months being back here i think i can just chalk the misseable attitude i had most of my life to not realizing how much i hated being cold ..not even really cold in temperatures below 60 ..

    Some people see things from a different perspective that others would have no reason to ever notice because they are not targets of what someone else experiences.

    When I go to a movie I can not just enjoy it, I notice slights, I notice stereotypes it just happens naturally.

    When I see people want to boycott Nike for taking a stand for a peaceful Knee and I see privileged marching with their swimming pool tiki torches I want to vomit.

    If you are not getting shot up in your own house or cops called on kids mowing lawns I guess you not worried about it.

    I remember the story of the White girl walking around in public with her White dress on and a AK47 Assault rifle as a fashion accessory that is not cool that is not a protest for any rights to me If she was black or any other non white she may have been shot dead.

    Trust me I am more optimistic than 99% but I am also a realist and the fact that people have one set of rules for themselves and one for others can get to you.

      I highlighted a Fitness Entrepreneur Blog in an eBook once.

      The guy started with a $10 eBook and turned it into a Million Dollars eventually.

      His blog was sorta controversial with him calling his readers "dipshits" for not taking his manly advice and settling for mediocrity and so on.

      But once he brilliantly asked his readers what direction he should take with his blog and I could tell the articles improved and he added additional income streams like supplements etc.

      I am thinking like what? You do not stay there and critique the place you get your gas and get the hell out of there and keep truckin!

      So that was weird.

    • Confession here. I made a cool fortune during the Mayan Calendar craze which "prophesied" a December 2012 apocalypse. At first I was debunking it, selling libraries of scientific and astronomical books from Amazon which indicated the Mayan calendar represents the start of a new era and not the end of days.

      But people would also buy books to "prove" their view point. So, I started promoting both sides of the controversy using a different pen name and website. This was an interesting phenomena to see first hand. People so commonly buy into their own preconceived beliefs despite overwhelming proof to the contrary. Works both pro or con.

      I am really surprised that Virtural Goggles have not become commonplace. Seems those projects have been abandoned. I could be working out in a Virtual Gym doing some virtual reps right now.

      I personally realized that some Compulsive habits stem from PROCRASTINATION directly or indirectly.

      Switching to an activity to avoid another. Guilty as charged.

      But I found a hack for it and works for me.

      What needs to be done now in these three minutes?

      "Now knowing I only have a three-minute commitment I just do the thing I was procrastinating about!

      I just make that a policy! Just do that one thing-- you know what it is-- it's the thing you're thinking about right now.
      Don't think in terms of patterns. None of this: "I always" or "I never " because those globalizing thoughts will never serve you."
