Like I am always getting pooped on

Well, today is one of those days. A crap day.
Having the equivalent amount of 15 weeks worth of pay locked up and essentially thrown away.
I needed that money to pay for a trip overseas

Its in these days I can help but feel...is it all worth it?

I have been writing my affirmations, setting goals, listening to tapes...but yet again I feel like I am back to square one.

There seems to be a lot of negative mess in the back of my head that just wont let me be successful.

I don't know the guys name, but he is on the current season of survivor being shown in Australia. I watch him on TV in awe. He almost seems to have the power of a god. He collects immunity idols when no one else can, he played a challenge last night where other people were losing 10-50 points at a time...in one of his attempts he lost none. He is a rich individual in the real world apparently earning a lot of money from oil.

If he wants something he gets it.

I see people like that now and then...I WANT TO BE THAT GUY.

Not lucky, but everything I want to happen to me, happens.

I cant put my finger on it.

The problem with the losing money above, I felt in such a great place. I was happy and grateful with everything in my life.

Where am I going wrong?

  • I don't think you're doing anything wrong. You just have to keep trying and remembering that each "no" or negative event is another step toward achieving your goal. Sooner or later, your persistence will pay off, so long as you don't give up.

You're probably closer to your goal or goals than you think. I read a little story about a guy searching and digging for gold who gave up just when he was really close to the gold. A few more tries and he would have found it.

I also have had and will have crap days. They're the pits and tempt me to give up. And some days, I almost did. But I dug in and kept trying and eventually overcame all of that negativity. And I did read motivational books, but became jealous of the authors and began taking steps to improve my situation.

So the whole idea is to be persistent in spite of the negativity. If you get caught in negativity's trap, you only attract more negativity.

Just my two cents. Hope that things work out for you soon......
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Not designing a specific plan with criteria consistent with your vision of your life. You very much want to master of your financial destiny. That means money coming in from more than one source or channel. Any rich person you care to study uses diversification.

You like oil, so check out JP Getty. How many different oil wells did his company have?

Yes, Bill Gates got rich from just one company, but it sold millions of copies of hundreds of different products in a variety of consumer and business markets.

Even most of Donald Trump's big deals involved a thousand different buyers of units in one spectacular tower.

These are a couple of the most focused business tycoons out there, and yet they had more than one way that the money arrived.

Look at Warren Buffet, investing in so many different companies and leaving their management in place.

Or Richard Branson, hands-on but in a multitude of fields.

All the affirmations in the world won't save you from a really bad idea that's not compatible with your goals. Your goal is to never let any one person limit your income ever again. Your action was inconsistent with that goal.

Yes, you got screwed, but you're the one who had all the eggs in one basket. And that came from not matching your ambitions with study about the lessons to be learned from those who have already succeed in your chosen path.

Fortunately all the lesson cost you was your next trip. Don't let it cost you any more than that! Split your income across multiple sources, so nobody can take away all your money ever again!

  • I I know of a product that can really help you out.
It's called Subconscious-Secrets.com --It's very good. Look over his free articles and then look over his product. I don't think you'll have a problem with dropping $40 bucks on it. It's all you need and I think this'll give you the edge your looking for.

Just to be clear: I'm in no way affiliated with this product : ) It's just one of my favorites!

  • Have you watched the video "The Secret"? If not, get your self a copy.
It has such a powerful message that I think will help you.

I believe it's now free to legally download. Just google it and enjoy.

    • I have seen the secret, read:
-"having it all" + "the answer"
-"the secret science of getting rich"
-some of the Abraham Hicks books

Its all well and good to read and watch these things...but there is something that Just creeps in that defeats all these thoughts.
I feel I know the theory back to front.

Its like I don't believe I am as strong as John Assaraf, Rhonda Byrne, Bob Proctor etc etc etc

      I just cant implement it
  • Many amazing things have been said in this thread alone, but at the end of the day just realize that the light at the end of the road is going to be worth all the experiences (both good and bad, positive and negative). Man's worst enemy is himself. Obtain the discipline to conquer yourself and the world is at your fingertips.

That man on Survivor probably realized this fact and even after seeing the others fail at the task, he, unlike the other "players," did not let the prior failure discourage him and proved to everyone on the show that the task is possible. I'm sure if anyone else went after him, that person did better than the last couple of players.

    Food for thought

    • Thanks Victor, what interested me with the man on Survivor is has total domination. He seems to have so much self belief.

He seems to be the film "the secret" personified. Anything he wants he gets
  • Is it just you? How about your Team? Are they supporting you? Are your friends and family supportive?

Tell you what, I have a new ebook out on Tuesday which is a complete mindset strategy for success, modeled from successful people I have worked with. PM me, and I will send you a copy totally free. If it helps you, write me a review :-)

I do have trouble with the number 1 team member. She is finding times quite hard at the moment.
We paid rent this week, and we are back down to nothing. We can afford to eat, pay the bills, pay rent, pay back loans....but nothing else!
We both live week to week and it is breaking her down. Realising this she stayed awake on the couch till 4 in the morning because she couldnt stop thinking about how tough it is at the moment

She isnt the most positive person.
I spoken to her about using the tools I have been using, but her motivation is low

  • Perspective is probably the most important trait anybody can have to be succesful at business, with relationships, with life. Until jsut a few years ago, I floated along life trying to find my way and things didnt work out normally.

Then I started to consciously force myself to have a stronger passion for what Im doing, no matter what it is. Whether its cleaning my car or starting an online venture, I make things happen now, I dont wait for things to happen and half arse my way through anything. Remember, for every person making somethign happen, there are 20 watching it happen. Be that one person

This has been the most powerful trait I have now. I would suggest you try adopting a stronger mindset, it can really make a difference.

I really feel you are on the right path now! Good luck buddy

  • Those two books are really the gold medal winners for learning how to control your thinking in practical ways. Let those guys talk you through your commute on the bus. Post a note here every day about what you learn, even if it's nothing more than "I didn't realize Brian's a Canadian," or "I can't believe that Earl has such a deep voice."

Earl actually does have good suggestions about your "pancake maker" problem but he has to cover some basics before he gets there.

    • Mike, end point can be a positive term. In electronics it can be a place where you plug in a circuit and something happens! If EndPoint does change his/her user name I hope we'll get to know that the new name is for the same person. Thanks a lot for jumping in here!
    • Endpoint was a band from the 90s, but maybe it does have some negative connotations. But I like to think of it as striving towards the endpoint. Like continually growing and trying to reach that point.

I have made a lot of changes.

I WAS THAT ANNOYING GUY AT WORK.
"How are you Dean?", "not to BAD" was always my response.

But every day, I say "extremely well" or "very well". It makes a massive difference.

One big thing I got from the secret was understanding when I was using negatives.

Like: "I don't want to be broke", now using "I always have money"

It is hard, and I catch myself everyday bringing in negatives.

I think what I experience now more is the negative self talk, for example:

"I always have money" then the back of my head will say "your broke, don't kid yourself"
  • if money is your problem - I can help. I have found a surefire effortless way to make money
  • Retireearlysb could you share w/ everyone? Maybe some friendly advice

Also, I think you're focusing on the wrong areas if you want to become successful.

Study the psychology of success and study success books. Find the laws that govern our minds and our world.

You're looking in the wrong places

If I could recommend any one product to anyone it would be "The Law of Success" by Napoleon Hill. It's way better than Think and Grow Rich. They aren't even in the same league!! Remember that it's a LAW.

Your working too hard for this too be happening to you. Shift your focus for a while. It'll pay off in the long run I promise.

Also, you can check out some Jack Cranfield or The Master Key System(way cheap) too.

Shift your focus and look at WHAT successful people do and WHY. This is why they have that effortless outcome while your stuck.

    Hope this Helps,
    Aaryn

  • Lol ya, I'm sorry. I completely missed that.
That's by far a great start. He can obviously make money so he doesn't need to focus on IM too much.

This is the area of focus that makes Millionaires. NO fancy system or strategy can do that. I spent a lot of time studying the trading of markets and this is the one key principle I learned from it.

Successful people think differently than unsuccessful ones. Their mindsets and composure are what take them to the top.

P.S: I'll recommend "The Law of Success" till the day I drop though : O

  • Endpoint, would you mind making a new thread with your study notes, and start it off with your LTF points? A fresh start with a new title might inspire more other people to see that you are doing something positive and join in!
  • That'd be cool Mr. Enthusiastic. Nice idea
  • I would also add from a practical point of view that you should look at your strengths for goin forward.

You sound like you are buying other peoples systems to make money. But what skills could you use to make your own product or service? Can you use paintshop well, write html for example? How about writing? Could you offer a unique take on a system and create a product to sell? Could you bring something unique to the table in a JV?

Perhaps you could clarify your current strategy more?

On a personal note, in my ebook I cover the art of learning to control your internal "coach" and "commentator". From your posts, I am thinking your commentator is out of control right now, so hit me that email address and I will send it straight over.
  • It's all about your focus and mindset. Look at the statements in your post...

"I am always getting pooped on"

"Well, today is one of those days. A crap day."

"There seems to be a lot of negative mess in the back of my head that just wont let me be successful."

"...I WANT TO BE THAT GUY."

"I cant put my finger on it."

The universe doesn't really care what you want. It delivers what your dominant thoughts are. You can recite affermations until the end of time and they won't do anything for you because the above quotes are where your real thinking lies.

This is pretty common when learning and practicing the law of attraction. I went through the same thing. Emerson said "The only thing that can grow is the thing you give energy to." When you go out of your way to describe all of the unwanted stuff happening in your life you relive it all and give it even more power.

I had my breakthrough with this listening to and reading Depak Chopra. He talks about flow and letting go. It's almost like we try too hard. He compares people to nature and points out that trees and flowers don't have to struggle.

Of course, they have no ego so all they need to do is accept the natural energy of the universe. The same goes for us. Wayne Dyer has a lot of similar stuff in his books.

In other words, we have to stop trying so hard and get in tune with who we are and what our true purpose is. Ultimately, it's about letting go and letting it happen.

    • Thanks,
This is where the real trouble is.

No matter what I say, learn or feel...there is an underlying problem that I don't know how to fix.

How do I get that voice inside to be positive?

Do I fake it till I make it?

  • Endpoint-

    If those are your feelings:
    * experience them fully
    * take full ownership
    * embrace the crap as well as the candy

Two books that helped transform my life:

"Man's Search for Meaning" - Viktor Frankel
"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" - Dale Carnagie

    I wish you well

    ~Adam
  • Endpoint, you definitely need to shut that negative voice up. Mr. Enthusiastic has mentioned some great books. You need to shut your negative thinking down before you get into the law of attraction etc., Work on you first and your mindset.

I too, when I was working on changing to a positive focus, started saying "Great" when people would ask me how I was, instead of "I'm doing OK". Soon, I really was doing great all the time.

Then I started consciously trying to defeat the negative thoughts that would creep in, by literally thinking "No, I'm not going to think that. I'm going to find a way to overcome this obstacle." I started saying, instead of "I can't" asking "How can I ..."

And through it all keep sending out ships, whether you're down or not. By that I mean, keep at the money making efforts, even when they aren't going anywhere. Those ships will eventually come in. When things are slow for me I get bummed but I keep trying my money making endeavors, then the next week I'll be inundated with money coming in and clients wanting to hire me. I didn't luck into those assignments, I had just stayed the course.

You've got a lot of good support from everyone on this board. Hope it helps.

    • Rconejr,

The fundamental key of understanding and exploiting The Law of Attraction is to change your focus and mindset into a more positive and successful outlook. They go hand in hand

But I think by the time he gets into studying The Law of Attraction he will have already done what you said He's starting out with some pretty cool products for his studies
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • There's a saying. I think it's in Proverbs in the Bible. I'm not religious but this is a good saying.

"Take your sluggard hands and look at the ant"

Something to that effect. I'm not saying your lazy, but the thing about ants is they just keep going. If one path doesn't work they try another until they get the prize. Not only that, they all work together.

Honestly, I feel like an Island. I like working alone. I like people too but it takes effort reaching out.

I don't know what your support system is like but you have to associate with people who are better, work harder, or are more motivated and successful than you. You need mentors and partners.

Jim Rohn said affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion. Are you delusional? I'm not implying, I am asking.

    Hope that helps.
