My Best Month Ever! Woohoo...

Hi Warriors,

I wanted to share my joy with you to show you that it is possible to work a plan and make that plan come to fruition. I have experienced my best every month to-date and January hasn't even come to a close.

I actually reached my income target on the 26th this month and am still going strong for an absolute whopper of a month.

Here is the thing:

My continuous success hasn't come by accident. In fact, I have worked diligently to improve my income month by month. For the past 5 months I have seen amazing growth in my business, mainly thanks to a membership course of a fellow forum member and of course my dedication to my business.

At the beginning of January I set myself a goal of reaching a new income level this month and I'm happy to say that I've actually gone over by $1,865 and counting. All in all I estimate that the December-January growth reflects more than 26%. Once the month comes to a close I will know in more detail.

The reason I'm posting here is to show you that you CAN achieve your goals if you work to your plan and stick with it. Remember, a journey is made of thousands of single steps.

Focus on one step at the time and you will see great results.

I also believe that when you put things out into the Ether they come back to you tenfold. Your success starts in your head - the rest is history.

      Thank you for the encouragement. I had some really strong months in the last four or so months and grew my business every time about 5-10%.

      Then come the beginning of the year I thought, what the heck, I can do BETTER than that and so I did. I guess it was a mental thing because I now know with absolute certainty that if you attach your mind to a specific goal the results will follow.

      In practice this resulted in aiming for loftier goals and working hard to stay on track. It worked.

      Yes I am certain it will. I believe success starts in your head. Unless you are 100% confident you can do this you won't. I do get my down days like everyone else. Funny enough, whenever I get a negative streak (which luckily doesn't happen too often) things take a turn for the worse - orders stall, clients take forever to decide, etc.

      Usually I sulk for a couple of days until I pull myself together again and when I do business experiences yet another growth.

      I just refused to be negative this month and look what happened.

  • Thanks Monika, that's really good advice. Unfortunately I'm still in a job that I don't enjoy and only internet marketing in my spare time. I really want to make a go of it so I can leave here but know I can live in a stable way, I guess I just need to think about what the alternative is if I don't work hard at it, that should get me through.

  • This is a great, positive thread. I love what you say about just trying to smile and carry on when you get into those 'down' moments. This is something I'm really coming to learn. Being self employed is really such a huge lesson in accountability, not just for money but for the way you work and the way you need to learn to encourage yourself.     • Good for you! It's always nice to see someone who has been rewarded for their hard work. I'm sure this will provide inspiration for those who might be a little "lost" which is always a great thing. All of what you've said is true though. It's all about putting your plans into practice and sticking with them. Your own mindset really is a huge part in determining whether or not you will succeed.

      You certainly hit the nail on the head with the accountability comment. No one is going to do the work for you when you run your own business. The thing is, they don't teach us in school who to think like an entrepreneur and like a manager (as Michael E. Gerber teaches us in the E-Myth books). Instead we think like technicians because that's what we are taught to be from kindergarden age onwards.

      It really is no wonder so many people fail in their ventures. Sigh... I could go on and on but am afraid I would just ramble on indefinitely...

      It's good to see that you are starting to see things from a different perspective. If you haven't already read it, I strongly suggest you read the book mentioned above. A total mind opener to say the least and must-read for any self-employed person.

    • I think this is one of the only sentences/lessons required in this entire forum, ever. Seriously, scrap all the junk, if you can truly grasp and apply this in your own way, then you can't really go wrong.

      Literally, pick a business model, write this on the wall, and think your way to action and success

  • Congratulations Monika! It sounds so cliche, and I know people have their eyes glaze over when they see it, but, it really does take someone self-motivated to keep going and to increase their efforts to reap the rewards over time. It is absolutely the hardest at the beginning putting in all the work before you see anything, but if you continue to work you will learn and eventually it will all pay off in the end.
