I am now a member of The Full-Time IM-ers Club!

Woke up this morning, had coffee out on the deck with my husband and kids, going to run a couple of errands now, and then back home to work for a couple hours!

Yup, it really CAN happen! Just over a year ago, I didn't know html from css, and had no idea what an affiliate program even WAS. And here I am now, working when I want, where I want and for whom I want - myself and my family.

So if you get down because it's taking too long or not happening the way you thought it would, keep the faith, because it's not an overnight success thing...it takes time and a ton of hard work, but I'm here as living proof that ANYONE can do this and be successful!

YOU CAN DO IT!

  • Welcome to The Club, Lisa. Glad to have you as a member.

Your welcome kit will be sent out shortly. Please don't share the secret handshake with anyone.

    Seriously, though...

That's awesome! It couldn't happen to a better person. You earned it, and continue to earn it.

    All the best,

    • I think this is why it is so slow for me, I spend too much time playing and not really doing the stuff I need to to get ahead. Then I get a little discouraged, drink too much coffee, eat too much chocolate, this means that by midday I am ready to climb walls and the work falls by the wayside.
Having said that, slow is fun too
  • Congrat's Lisa, nice feeling isn't it?
I joined fulltime 1 1/2 yrs ago & haven't looked back. I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for my offline marketing efforts...
Regularly set a series of goals for yourself, some easily achievable...some challenging then keep forcused on those goals....remember to reward yourself when you reach or surpass them. Your the boss now, it's up to you to keep your team in tow...even if your team is just you!

  • Congratulations Lisa. I am hoping I can make the switch to full time IM in around a year's time as well. I absolutely despise giving my valuable time to "the man" and can't wait to work for myself and employ others.

You serve as a beacon of light. Thanks.

Just have to move to the next stage now.
Its all about self-believe and taking action in my opinon.

  • You have my hearty congratulations Lisa. Well done you.

All I need do now is follow in your footsteps.

I am planning to move to another country soon with no prospects of getting a job, so I need to make this IM lark work ...I have 12 months or less to succeed before I uproot and move with just a suitcase in hand...so thats my motivation.

Think I'll do it? ....you bet I will.

    Thanks for the motivational post.

  • You're awesome Lisa! I don't know if I could ever take the plunge to go full time IM but even cutting back my daytime hours at my regular job to 30 per week would help me immensely during the years while my little ones are young. Congrats to you for making your dreams happen through hard work and tenacity :-)
  • Welcome to The Club Lisa. I joined about almost 3 years ago now but I never did it part time: I was jobless so I had to power learn the whole thing on the go. One day a friend told me about this new thing called "blogging" so I started researching some and... oh well boy, time flies!

    • Congratulations, Lisa! That's awesome, and proof that really hard work pays off. Enjoy!
  • Yes siree Lisa, Congrats to you and my admiration also. For a young whipper snapper (so be it a good looking one) you have done good. You set your goal and went after it.

One thing other folks should take a look at is the time you joined the WF and just short of a year you have have become a full time marketer. I happen to know Lisa had a full time job during this past year, so she worked part time on becoming a fulltimer Im'er (is there any such thing )

This young lady has a plan in place and I have every confidence in her she will continue to move her business forward.

  • That is awesome Lisa! Living the dream! I'm reminded of all the people that say it's not possible, that say you have to work 9 - 5 for 35 plus years. BS... Belief System!!! It takes a certain type of person to have a dream and then go for it. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! Here's to dreamers like us, right?

  • I have a feeling I'm going to use up all my "thanks" on this thread today!

Yeah, this is a totally great feeling, and something that I've wanted for what seems like an eternity. I really need to stay focused now, which is not my strong point, so I know that'll be a challenge. I've got my office set up in a spare room in our house with a door that closes. LOL I'll need that with the two kids around.

Prior to this, I was at around 1/3 of what I want to make monthly, and I just really don't think that the money will be a problem. I'm not overly confident, I just know that I know what to do to get it done. And now I just gotta do it!

  • That's great news Lisa, Congratulations. I made my switch to full-time-er about 2 months ago, too. It was really refreshing to move from having to pinch time around your regular working hours to being able to commit full-time to your business to boost your results even further.

Fortunately for me, with my business, my run to freedom was reasonably short (although the first few months were definitely tough!). I managed to make the transition from newbie entrepreneur to full-time internet marketer having plenty of time to do the things I love!

Congratulations again and welcome to the club!

    • Hi Nick,
Like you I just got involved with IM a few months ago and have had issues with trying to take in too much information from too many people on too many subjects.

I am pretty much full time at it and would welcome a few tips from someone relatively new at it who has made it work.

      Regards,
      Richard.
  • Congrats! It's a great feeling isn't it!!
  • Woo hoo Lisa!
I bet that was the best cup of coffee you ever had, because it was packed full of hope, confidence, visions of doing what you want when you want, and seasoned with pride in how far you've come.

I've admired how you always seem to find the little cracks where you should put your fingers and toes in your climb up the big IM rock.

    Congrats!
    Peggy
  • Awesome! I have to admit I am a bit jealous... OK a LOT jealous. I hope to be in the same position by next year. I need to get a system!
  • Congratulations, it took me well over a year to find my feet in IM, im now at a point where i can relax and not worry about money. Top tips (and ignore my post count ive been in the game a while), explore methods, i mean really try them all, find one that works for you (and you will) give it your own little twist, make it yours make it unique, then concentrate your efforts, your initial time and effort will save you time and effort in the long run, then you can sit back relax and work for a couple of hours per day
    congrats again
  • Word to that!
  • Congrats, Lisa! As one of the founding members of "the club" I regret having to tell the welcome kit is no longer sent out. Too many people were distracted by all the bright, shiny things in it.

Seriously, I'm glad to see all that following me around on the forum you did has paid off for you.

Whoops, there I go joking around again, I mean really seriously this time - I'm very happy for you! It feels great, doesn't it? If you need anything let me know. PM me or Skype or email.

    • Congratulations! Always great to hear a success story. Just goes to show that if you have a plan, set a goal, put in the hard work that it will all be worth it. Good going!
    • I happy for you Lisa-

I've read your comments on the forum for a long time, always appreciated your real-life insights.

It is wonderful to be able to stay up late or get up when you want-- and work as long as you want -- for just yourself.

      Best of success to you.

    • Im happy that you did

Im pretty young and just started this thing, hopefully i can do this
  • Congrats! After just over a year? Amazing!
  • Yup, my "thanks" got taken away. LOL

Thanks to everyone who's posted. That I'm doing this just amazes me and I think I'm still in shock! We had a great day today and there will be so many more to come!
    • [1] reply
    • I'll call you about 5 AM and remind you to get to work. The shock will wear off pretty quickly.
  • congratulations :] stuff like that is the reason I love IM

I can sit here and tell myself that I will build a new business and make it successful..and I can tell myself that with 100% assurance...why? because I never have to stop...i never have to stop trying and i never have to stop making it work..so it's really just a question of time.

The only thing stopping you is your own mind when it comes to IM..so if you can master that..then anyone achieve the exact same results that you have. why?

because they don't have to stop..ever..
  • Congratulations! Ya know you also bring up a great point that if someone can do this after a year of working a separate job that really isn't that long to be in such a great position :-) Cheers to many more successes heading your way!
  • Good work on having that positive outlook Lisa!

Believing YOU CAN manage despite all those responsibilities both at work and at home is also dictating to oneself you're one great focused multi-tasker.
  • Lisa,
Congratulations. A year is either a long or short time depending on how the seconds have gone. For you it well might be the shortest year of your life because to make it, you must have used every available minute to your advantage.

Thank you for your inspiration. The age old adage that success is a product of hard work and resilience is vindicated by you. New internet marketers should learn from you on these values and help themselves from being scammed by cons who promise heavens in split seconds.

You are testimony to the fact that internet marketers are still very relevant our ever changing world. When you are done savoring your very deserved moment, you could enlighten the rest of the community on how you did this to help those struggling to keep the faith.
    Thank you.
  • Congratulations, Lisa!

I'm sitting on my deck right now. =^)
  • So it's been a few days, the shock has worn off, the office is set up and I'm now trying to find my working groove. It's going pretty well so far.

It's an interesting thing...how I got here. Unlike so many, I never expected overnight riches. And, unlike so many, I buckled down to learn the basic skills that I'd need - you know, all the writing, link building, article marketing, blah blah blah. But I never took shortcuts and even when I hated it, I did it. That right there is the "key" to my success, I believe. I didn't shun the actual hard work...I just did it.

Thanks to everyone for your great sentiments! I'm going to come back to this thread whenever I get to feeling overwhelmed or uninspired!
  • What an inspirational "feel good" thread this is! Thanks for taking the time to post this Lisa. And many congratulations.

If more people could just experience the thrill of working from home and being your own boss for just one day, that would be all the motivation they needed to do whatever it takes to make it a reality.

It makes me smile to learn that your secret is that there is no secret. The hard work sure is worth the payoff though, huh?

Enjoy your new freedom -- you've earned it!

Congratulations. To go full time from only being involved in online marketing for a year is amazing!
  • Well done Lisa and welcome to the "magic world." A world where you are in charge of your own destiny to make a difference in people's lives each and every day.

I'm excited for you. I still have butterflies in my tummy when I think back of my own transition. Rock on girl!
  • As I sit here at the job i hate....i envy you..
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!
  • Congrats Lisa
  • Hello there

That's some good advice. A lot of people believe that making money online is going to be easy. Ive said this before but it's true a lot of newbie's will have high expectations of earning a lot of money fast from the internet. They have the mindset of believing that success will come easy. This will usually not happen, and they will end up getting frustrated and quit. Every internet marketer has made mistakes, to be a success you must learn from your mistakes.
  • The Dream!

Inspiring. Hope to get there sometime.
  • Hi Lisa,

Congratulations on your success achieving the freedom. You deserved it. I am jealous..very jealous and its Totally inspired me to better myself.

That's was my goal in IM since the very first day im joining in IM world 3 months ago and the situation is just same like you i have no knowledge in html or whatsover about affiliate marketing.
I believed this - Opportunity = Freedom. i hope i could be in same position as what you have achieved today and i believed i can!

Thank you for such inspired post.

    Best Regards,
    Maleeqa

p/s: wish you continuous success in IM world.

  • Lisa,
Awesome, girl!! I'm way envious and coming up on my year mark --
I know you've worked hard for this moment and it will be great watching it all bear the fruits of your labors~ Big congrats!!

    Andie
  • Congratulations Lisa, these are definitely the type of stories that inspire the rest of us to no end.

I was in your shoes about a year ago, was able to leave my full time job, and had a good deal of success.

Sometimes, or at least in my case, it swings back full circle. Now I am back working full time but I am doing something that I love and that I am passionate about thanks to the opportunity that presented itself through all of my IM work on my own.

I believe that is truly the best thing that working full time as an internet marketer taught me. I learned to ditch the ideals that so many of us are unknowingly pushed towards and realized that first and foremost you have to do whatever it is that you love.

That is how success and opportunity presents itself.
  • word! Congratulations !!!
  • keep doing it until it happens, and you'll get better at it. it'll get so good at it that you will not be able to live without it
  • Great job! Very inspirational!
  • Thank you so much for your post!

I am single mum and finally on my way starting to make money online (after a long separation process and moving houses and the like).

It is so encouraging to know that people are making IM really work for them! Encouragement and positive example are so important, it keeps that productive mindset going

    Thanks again!
  • Okay, thread update!

My husband and I just celebrated our BEST EVER day! $727 in one day! Of course, every day is not like this, but those days DO happen and that is what matters!

Keep the faith and keep on going! It can work! It DOES work!

(It's not sexist if it's capitalized...and part of your profile tag!)
  • I love these inspiring threads and I hope to achieve what you did very soon!
  • Well I've got a couple of pretty cool updates!

Two Monday's ago, my husband and I got antsy and decided to take a road trip. We decided to go north, up to Wisconsin so I could show him and my kids where I grew up. While we were on our vacation, we realized just how portable this whole lifestyle really is, and how we can work wherever we want to as long as we have a reliable internet connection...

This got us thinking...we pay $1300 a month in rent here in Chicago, so we took a look at some local newspapers and realized that if we moved, we'd probably be able to save around $500 in rent alone, not to mention about half of what we spend on car insurance and utilities. Hell, we could actually stay at an inn for a month, have a maid and no utilities and actually SAVE money from what we're paying in rent. LOL So, we made the logical decision...

We're leaving Chicago and moving up to Wisconsin and renting a home on acreage starting September 1st. We're doing it!

The other big news is that we decided to offer one on one mentoring because we really want to show people how to do what we've done. It's not open to the public yet or anything, but we've got a few students from my list and all I have to say is that this next month is going to be SO AWESOME!
    • [1] reply
    • Good for you Lisa! You'll be amazed at how much other costs come down - when we moved to the mountains, we reduced our monthly expenses overall by $2400 - prepare to be amazed!!
  • You can really live a good life with affiliate marketing. But just do it with the right way.

  • I second Lisa on that one

I must say, posting on the Warrior Forum for a while now, I never realised how much I would actually enjoy reading posts in the Mind Warriors - Self Improvement forum.

Some of the comments in this forum are heart-warming and I look forward to contributing from my own experience as well.

As Lisa said: It takes effort and a lot of determination to succeed in any industry, especially Internet Marketing.

There are many including myself who can vouch for that.

Learning the Internet Marketing career path can be very time consuming process, but if one of sticks with that it will end up as a very worthwhile endeavor. I believe with the economy in the current state that it's in will attract more people to Internet Marketing. For the right person this can be an absolutely wonderful way to make a living.

  • Since I was injured and have not been here in quite some time my congrats are a little late but, as they say, better late than never.

My feelings are really hurt. First I had no idea I was even suppose to get a welcome kit. Then I find out about the welcome kit and before I can find out who to complain to about not getting one they have been discontinued.

Wishing you all the best and a bright future,

I am now a member of The Full-Time IM-ers Club! Woke up this morning, had coffee out on the deck with my husband and kids, going to run a couple of errands now, and then back home to work for a couple hours!
