They are doing their part of Karma..

    • They know that when they give back or "TITHE", it will come back to them multiplied.

This is one of the best guarantees of prosperity ever known to man kind.

Bring the full tithes into the store house, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you and overflowing blessing.

I got that from a book and it makes so much sense.

  • warren buffet still lives in the same house and the same neighbourhood for the last 50 years. He see no point in moving....He's happy where he is and knows his neighbours.

    What a cool guy
  • I definitely LOVE his investing style!

    • That enormous amount will help out the charities greatly. The man was a genius (anyone who's company's stock is so valuable that they only offer a limited number of shares for it about once or twice a decade is a genius in my opinion)!

    • I agree... and the more he gives and helps others, the more he seems to be successful himself. Wonder where he'd be if he'd chosen to hoard all his money years ago instead of being a philanthropist?
  • If you guys want to learn more about him go to Youtube and type in: Warren Buffett Documentary. It's the first video!

  • Just for a moment, let's take Warren's quote and apply it to the context of what you are doing in IM...

Who are the people YOU are surrounding yourself with?...

    Who are YOU imitating?...

How are YOU becoming better and better?...

You don't necessarily have to post your reply here, but at least give it some thought, won't you?

    Andy.
  • Warren - my hero.

    - Dont invest in things you dont understand.

    • The principles of giving are universal and irreversible. Anything beyond 10% is an offering and the combination of the two will guaranteed a windfall return to the giver.

Just like the law of gravity, law of cause and effect, etc; the law of giving works powerfully all the same.
  • He's an asshole. Research him a little bit and see how he treats the people around him.

    • Yes, he is. He gives billions to charity and convinces other billionaires to do the same. I can't believe they let him get away with this!!!!
  • A down to earth person who doesn't talks about airy fairy stuff. He doesn't have a computer in his office. He doesn't use complicated software to do his analysis.
And he only do one thing all his life - value investing. That's why he got so good at it.
  • I think he's a really humble person that hasn't let his success go to his head. He still doesn't buy new cars (he thinks depreciated 2-3 year old cars are better buys), drinks Cherry Coca-Cola like it's going out of style and he still stays in the same house that he bought many years ago in Omaha. He's a small town boy that has risen to stratospheric heights and has kept his humility - how many billionaires out there can you truthfully say are as unaffected by wealth and fortune as he is? Just look at how the "poor" billionaires (who are only worth 10% or less than Warren) are spending their money, such as Donald Trump and the others like him.

Above all, he is a very astute investor who looks for true long-term value in all his investments, and this has kept him in good stead despite the roller coaster ride the economy has taken in recent years.
  • I have bought and read a book about Warren Buffet.

Remember a business associate saying to me that they wouldn't by a service unless that person was driving an Aston Martin....

I must confess I smiled a bit because Warren Buffet drove the same beat up old banger for years. He understood the time value of money and depreciating assets and would never dream of wasting cash on something that depreciates.

    Warren Buffet rocks!

    Regards

    Steve
  • His kindness attitude brings richness to himself. He's so inspiring!

  • I think it's David Ogilvy that said - if each one of us hires people that are less than we are, we shall become a company of dwarfs - but if each one of us hires people who are better than us, we are destined to become a company of giants. Golden words.
  • And his son Jimmy puts out some great music!

(Just joking. The two men are in fact not related at all: https://www.23andme.com/gen101/variation/buffett/)

But, true enough, his contributions have come in many forms; not just financial.
