Oh there's plenty of value in fame.

That jet blue guy is going to make some money....

Captain Sully achieved fame, and a tad bit of money through books
    and speaking engagements.

Two people with the airline industry, each with fame.

I'm not sure that fame is a lofty goal, however.

Mother Theresa had fame, and the right stuff to go with
    it.

Fame along with good things that follow. That would be the
    goal.

Whether you think fame matters or not, a little fame is what we
are all after, right? We do advertising and IM. Isn't that trying
to achieve a small slice of fame? And the rewards that follow?

Being recognized nationally for something you did right sure would
    be a nice feeling though....

Considering the amazing affect of music (one avenue of fame) I definitely think it's a high value ambition.

Because you'll be giving people understanding, hope, relief, happiness, knowledge and everything else that's good for the soul.

Fame can put you in a position where you can inspire people (like John Lennon and Yoko Ono, or more recently Will Smith) and from there you can do good.

Not sure if fame is a very high and worthy goal, i think it should just be a by product of your success

Good question. I think we should strive to be people to be admired and emulated but for all the right reasons.

Do you really bring value to society or are you scheming and planning to make your living?

Is part of your goal to succeed to truly help others reach their goals and attain a level of success they may not have without your help?

Will you give back after you have been so fortunate?

Are you just trying to make money to make money or is there some greater good or why behind it?

I guess I would sum it up like this if you have children would you want them operating in the same way you do?
