Personal Development Dust Collectors

How many PD books or CDs collect dust in your home?

The natural tendency is to get fired up about a program , buy it, use it for a short while and ditch it when your billions don't show up...and maybe return to it months later when you feel inspired again.

So how 'bout it? I've been guilty of this...in the past.

  • Not many physical books now, lots of ebooks though.

    • I know what you mean. I started a thread today along that line. I was wondering if anyone would like to join me in going through one of my dust collectors. So far, no one seems interested.

Seems like books and cds are harder to lose. Stuff I have on my computer.. well, out of sight, out of mind.

When I keep reading the personal development material, it's like marinating my brain with a secret sauce. Ha.

  • I am guilty of it in the past and even now lol.... I have a folder of 10 gig full of self development stuff ranging from ebooks to videos and whatnot, Bob proctor, anthony robbins to david deangelo etc..

Most of them are still regurgitated stuff over and over again.. so didn't felt like touching them at all for some time
  • Well, if you buy a book, start it and think it's good but then never finish it you're wasting it. However, I have quite a few books that I have no intention of getting rid of anytime soon. Zig Ziglar often says you need to read or hear something 16 times until you really get it.

I don't know about 16 times, but I'll speak for myself that I've watched a DVD of Jim Rohn's at least 4 times now and I still pick up "new" insights.

If you're buying up stuff and not taking any of it to heart then re-evaluate your goals and intentions. But, if a book doesn't resonate with you then give it away or sell it.
