Eliciting your own Resources

For years, I walked around with massive creativity and the ability to generate incredible outcomes, dormant in my brain.

I had no idea how to awaken it, or that it was even there to begin with. I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about a seminar we're going to be doing in PA in the next year and he said this to me: "We're built to succeed, but then programmed to fail."

I thought to myself, "this is it man." We literally are neurologically built to succeed (unless we have a disorder) but because of the influence from people who haven't figured that out, we get mentally conditioned to fail.

The ones who end up succeeding realize that the programming that stopped them their entire lives isn't even real, it's other people's perceived limitations. When I started "getting activated," by reading success books, studying things like NLP and brain science and really going deep into my mind to make changes on things I didn't like, I realized that our resources are there the entire time, waiting for us to draw them out once we realize we've just been conditioned to sit on the bench. Thanks for reading!

  • This is so true! We definitely ARE programmed to fail. The mind is a fascinating organ and it's absolutely amazing what can be achieved when we reprogram our thoughts and actions.

  • You got it Ryan. Just look at how we were programmed and by whom. Our parents, teachers, friends, and even enemies, did it when we were kids, “don’t do that, what will people think”, “stop that, you’re embarrassing me”, “stop daydreaming you’ll never succeed that way”, and so many other statements and even looks.

Granted we control ourselves and our thoughts, but our subconscious is the one that really rules us and this is programed by what happens to us.

But we are able to take control and overwrite all these negative programs by “reprogramming” them ourselves with more powerful and positive programs. NLP, like you said, being one method.
