Hi Warriors,

I'm currently re-working myself through Personal Power by Anthony Robbins.

Which Personal Development program has had the most impact for you?

Which Personal Development event/ seminar has had the most impact for you?

For me, it was Unleash the Power Within. I did it in Feb 2004 and am planning on attending the one in Chicago in July. Have any other Warriors been to UPW too?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Mo

    • Don't you love it when you meet people who are not only on your same wave-length, but on your same wave-length at the same time!

      Nice to meet you Happy_Balance!
  • Same to you mohammedali, thanks for the reminder.
  • Wayne Harrel's Incharger Program changed my life. I also went through tony robbins personal powers 2, but Wayne's Incharger kinda helped me implementing all the stuff I learned.

    • Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for letting me know about Wayne Harrel's program. I'll need to check that out. Have you got the details for that?

      Thanks

  • The program that works the best is the one that's found within.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Dave, Love your list. Have read every book on it - some real classics there!

For me, if I had to choose one book, it would be Conversations with God.

Interesting how 7 Habits wasn't on your list? Have you read that?

Great connecting with you, welcome to the forum!
  • Not to self promote, but the one I designed after reading dozens of self help classics and boiling it down to an exact formula to follow.

  • I'm not sure if it would be considered a 'personal development program' or not, but a little book called, "Change Your Life in 7 Days" by Paul McKenna was completely mind-altering for me. I see things from a whole different perspective now.
  • The strange thing about personal development is that what work for one may or may not work others. Only way is to try and find out for yourself. Because the real change come from within, all the tools out there are just tools.

It is all about your current belief system. If the tools you are using, are in line with your current belief system there will be real change and transformation within. And you have found your magic pill. Otherwise you have two choices:

    1. You have to keep looking for a tool that is compatible with your current belief system. or

    2. You have to work on your belief system - which is an exercise of personal development!!!
  • Read books. Most people don't read a single book after they get out of school. Do you want to be like most people? I sure don't! I can't say there is any book that will work for everyone because everyone is in a different position in their personal growth.

    My current favorites:
    - Take the Step, the Bridge Will Be There (Grace Cirocco)
    - Mojo: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back if You Lose It (Marshall Goldsmith)

I've also just finished Brian Tracy's Thinking Big: The Keys to Personal Power and Maximum Performance.

  • In my many decades of living I have tried numerous personal development programs.

In truth, the best personal development that I've experienced began when I started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • I'm checking out ALL of the books and resources. Thanks for sharing.
  • I came across this article which read the benefits or Meditation. I tried it, and discovered the article was way to small to summarize the benefits of meditation. It has changed my life.
  • I liked "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I have the free ebook if anyone wants it.- facebook name Debra Taylor

I always liked the little I saw of Tony Robbins. But I never read an entire program by him. I think he was an advisor to Bill Clinton years ago.

    • Born Rich by BOb Proctor.
  • Hmm. There's a lot but I think the 7 Habits and Tony Robbins made a big impact on me. Real Social Dynamics in terms of social skills development is one huge influence.

  • Hi Mo,

Tony Robbins is one of my favorite and was the very first person which I came across when it came to personal development.

I still remember his infomercial that he did about his product a few years ago. His audio, motivation, inspiration, and directions has helped me a lot.
  • One of the best programs I have come across is the Cybernetic Transposition program. Just Google it.

  • A program that had a big impact on my life is "The Goal Achiever by Bob Proctor.
I have had some great breakthroughs with that program, learned some new and wonderful things about myself and how to work with the different aspects of my being.
I still listen to that program each time I find myself slipping.
  • I cannot say that there is one specific program that contributed to my overall self development. Several books and life experiences have helped bring new perspectives into my life. The latest one has been Infinite Possibilities by Mike Dooley. The ideas contained are shared by many other self development gurus such as the Hicks, but he has a special way of presenting the topic and the book is beautifully written.

  • The most impactful course I've taken is the Landmark Education curriculum.

Otherwise I've done some T. Harv Eker and James Ray programs that were terrific but nothing has been as sustaining as Landmark.
  • A program called Money & You. 1st program that I attended. And the most powerful. Maybe because I don't have any prior comparison.

And another program Business School for Entrepreneurs. This is not a MBA kind of school. Full of activities and enormous amount of pressure being simulated to reflect the business world.
  • I have, and am inspired by, Tony Robbins' Personal Power program, too.

However, the personal development resource that originally got me on the path to personal achievement was Earl Nightingale's book, titled, "Earl Nightingale's Greatest Discovery." From there, I purchased several of Earl's audio training programs, and through those purchases, I learned of Brian Tracy.

Since then, I have purchased numerous personal development programs by a variety of the well-known leaders in the field, but I always seem to turn back to Brian's materials when I am looking for inspiration or a boost in productivity.

Because of that, I started promoting and selling Brian Tracy resources a few years ago.
