Hey everyone, I've compiled 15 greatest myths about success, which you can find here
#mind warriors #fear #money #motivation #success
  • Very inspiring article!

  • Yep, great thoughts!
I'll just add that mostly people won't start with business due to fear. Just make your first move and start with something. Then you can already recognize the new opportunities you encounter.
The funny thing is that people want to create a "Facebook" right away, but the typical problem is that when they have an opportunity like "Facebook" in their hands, they just don't know how. So all in all, just start, TODAY!

    • I've heard a lot of people have bright ideas but they NEVER capitalize on it. Our ideas aren't very unique, the truth is some people already thought of it, but never took the opportunity to take action on it.
  • That's true that people don't capitalize their ideas. Mostly due to the fact that they don't have the guts, the time or the money for it -> all excuses
  • Well it always easier to talk about your plans and ideas than to act upon them. Many people dream about becoming rich or achieve something great. But most of them after years passing by still stay with their dreams. Not everyone will become great at something they want, but everyone can at least give it a try!
  • As i noticed observing myself - that if u have something in your mind you want to start doing it is better to just start doing it, but not telling much to your friends and relatives about that stuff, cause you can lose your energy and may not have desire to start it anymore. It is true for me.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • It's true. I looked for partners many times already and we've already planned the business together. But in the end, they are too scared of what might happen, so I was left to venture into the business alone.

Many would discuss their ideas openly, and say how easy it is to make money. But 90% of the time, they NEVER deliver and they NEVER do whatever they advice. That's why I learned not to listen to the advice of unsuccessful people.

This was also true for me. I used to discuss all my ideas to all my friends, but eventually they get all pessimistic about the idea and tell me all the bad things that might happen.

Another problem with revealing your ideas is that if you fail to deliver, you tend to feel really embarrassed about it.

Jealous people most especially want to see you fail, and wait for an 'I told you so' moment.

Mostly, they fail to see that the real point of starting a business isn't just to make the money but to get the WISDOM and EXPERIENCE to be able to pursue something bigger that would make you a FORTUNE!

    • It is so true, I'm a newbie, at the beginning trying to share it with family/Friends, but they gave me some negative feedback.....now, just doing alone, whenever I need help/advice, will sign into Warrior Forum

Actually not easy to leave from the comfort zone, just able to do it early this month, I think I'm not too late ....

Hi Louie Sioco, is really a good article, inspired me 100%. With your article, I'm sure that I have made a right move and must keep moving on....Thank You!

      Cheers

  • Siocowiz, how do you differentiate successful people from unsuccessful? I ask this because often times it is not so obvious. For example some people just want to sell their product to you, they will try and can convince you that they are successful and their product will help you to reach prosperity or whatever you want, but in reality you will just waste your time and money
    • [2] replies
    • Successful people are rich. Unsuccessful people are not rich.
      I don't see how it isn't obvious.
      • [1] reply
    • I think you are referring to Internet Marketing products right? To be able to identify if they are successful, you have to search for a review here in the Warrior Forum, because reviews here are mostly honest.

If reviews do not exist, you must ensure that they person you're buying from has a money back guarantee. If it doesn't, just don't buy it (they might have something to hide). Try out their program and see how it works, if it doesn't work for you after you've tried it, ask for a refund. They honor refunds.

If you are referring to successful people in general, there are many ways to know. Look for referrals (people whom they closely work with or possibly their apprentice). Study and evaluate their credentials. Read their blog. Check if their businesses are successful. Most successful people leave a trace for people to know.

      Just do your due diligence.

  • Great video as well. I've seen that before in one of the Project Management courses I've taken. Always good to remind yourself that failure isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just means you haven't found the exact thing you need YET. Keep working at it and it will come.
    • [1] reply
    • I don't think anyone has ever succeeded without failing. You only truly fail if you quit.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Fantastic and inspiring post I see the people around me all the time making
the most ludicrous excuses for every single thing they do or don't do.

They never achieve anything cause they don't take the responsibility for
their actions - it's always someone or something else fault.

Successful people never make excuses and see opportunities in everything,
unsuccessful people always make excuses and see only obstacles in everything.

That is my parameter to separate successful and unsuccessful.

    Best of luck,

    Exel

    • Don't you just hate it when you have friends who also have limiting beliefs?

It's hard to hangout with people who make excuses all their lives. I think it's quite contagious.
      • [1] reply
  • What is funny is when I'm talking with my friends and they are complaining about
everything (can't get a job, economy is bad, government sucks) I'm talking positively
    trying to help them actually.

They are like "yea, you are right", "that's the way", "we should do that" and so on.
Then they go and do exactly the same as before, never change anything.

They simply don't want to make the effort, it's just so easy and seductive to complain
all the time and never do or change anything.

It can be annoying but my take is if there were no unsuccessful people we wouldn't
    know a successful one anyway.
    • [2] replies
    • That's exactly the point. People love to complain and blame the economy, their upbringing, the government, but they never try to do anything even if they know what to do.

    • That's why i do not watch TV news. Media tells us all the time that everything is bad, unemployment increases, wars going on etc. And you know, after i watch these news, my mood is really going down.
Government doesn't care what u think about them unless u pay taxes.
I don't remember when i really blamed government last time - cause those blames won't change anything, but instead of blaming you can change yourself

  • That was a very inspirational post. I developed the mentality that the working man is a sucka. I got that from the movie A Bronx Tale but it's true. You work your ass off for a paycheck for forty years and still broke with nothing to show until you stop making excuses and create your own destiny by working your ass off to acquire skills, not a petty wage, that will make you the big bucks that will have you retiring early.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • Working used to be the "IN" thing. But times have changed. There used to be benefits that would provide you with cashflow even after you retire (I think General Motors implemented this during the Industrial Age). However, they transformed into a compensation plan instead, which only gives you the money you put in, which means you won't get anymore cashflow when you retire.

It doesn't make sense to keep on working then. People should focus on developing a business instead because they can make a steady cashflow even if they're dead!
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Great post. The hardest part I have to say is finding a mentor. Most of the internet marketing mentors cost hundreds of dollars, and as a student I only have limited summer job funds to last me the entire school year.

But, to tell you the truth, I believe that doing it on your own is much more fulfilling and you can learn much better. Making your own mistakes and your own decisions can really help you shape your OWN business model.

    • Hi Mark,

The problem with doing it on your own is that you will tend to stray from the actual path. Mentors are awesome because they already know the things that work and don't work, and they can help you succeed much faster. I don't know why those mentors cost a hundred. I got mine for free

Go to Warrior Contests, there is a thread there that mentors are offering their services for FREE. Why don't you give it a shot? If they see how persistent you are, maybe you can get find one soon.

  • great thread, guys! thank you all for posts!

all people need a mentor! The main point here to find a good one. Not all calling themselves mentors are such.
  • #14 on the list is the one I struggled with the most when I first decided I wanted to make a career out of Internet Marketing.

    14. The market is already saturated (the market is so big. why are you targeting the saturated markets? tap into markets that really need your services)

So many people were constantly saying that the market was flooded and there was no way to stand out from the crowd.

I am so glad I chose not to listen! I would have missed out on dozens of opportunities.

    • I'll let you in a little secret... people tell you that because they either didn't succeed in Internet Marketing or that they don't want anymore competition
  • I never knew why these old tycoons keep working liking what you do is the closest answer yet
  • Hey Louie

You look like quite a young guy to me but already full of such wisdom. This looks like something I would post on a forum. hee hee. But seriously, Kudos to you. Everyone needs to be reminded of what they really want to go for in life. I quit a full-time job last year and now only work part-time so I could dedicate myself to my business and haven't regretted it. Even when it hard, I remember why I am doing it and keep going.

  • first of all, i did " do it now" since 2006 or 2007 to do internet business. that is okey
find mentor: yeah i just did but i have not idea(He is taking long time to reply my message, could be 2-3 week). you can say i do have or not have.

i work 13 hour a day to do IM biz and now I just do 4 hour instead of 13 hour. why? work hard first, then check how is the performance and reduce drastically what work only.

everyday i have the same dream, that is make $200 a month and it so awful to say it never appear at me yet lo. it suck
    • [1] reply
    • It's because those old tycoons also love what they're doing even though it may be boring to some. That's what many fail to see. Some people want to travel around the world, and some people like to stay at home reading financial statements. Different people have different interests.

Thank you very much. I hope you're reaching your goals, and I hope you succeed.

No matter what year it is, the trend always changes, and more opportunities are created. In 2006-2007, social networking weren't very popular. However, If you did a few social media marketing tricks two years ago, you've probably made a lot of money by now. Many may say that social media marketing isn't effective anymore, but have you tried other new tricks like mobile marketing? It's an excuse people use that you can't make money anymore.

I agree with what you said, you do have to work hard at first. The reason is because you need to learn and gain more experience during the initial stages of IM. After that, you should just work on maintenance.

Not to worry, you will attain your dream one day. PM me all about it. I'm curious what sort of IM techniques you're into.

      -Louie
  • Thank you for such an inspiring post, and the responses have been incredible also! Honestly, the younger you are, the better the time to try your own business. There are many twists and turns in the road of life, and if you are in a position to try your own business, then you should! If you are not in a position to do this full-time, then set your goals on working to pay the bills, but find your own niche and work on it after you get home from work and on weekends. Know that in the long run, you will be developing your own business and perhaps if you become successful, you will be able to work for yourself one day. You can learn during your 9-5 world, and apply your knowledge to your business at nights and on the weekends. I agree, if you work for someone, you will never learn as much as when you work for yourself, but it is one way to pay the bills for now and build for a better future. Best wishes to everyone for a most successful business!
  • Personal accountability is the real issue. Too many lack it! If only it had a nice shiny "instant sales" button, maybe some would grab it =-)

  • How true! Life has now rewinds so we should wisely invest our time in endeavors that will be beneficial for us in the long run. The big step is to take risks so that you can go out of your shell and maximize on your skills and resources.
  • You look so young yet you are very wise! Old people like me are greatful for a fresh, confident and wise mind like yours! Very inspiring post!

    • Very well said. I couldn't agree with you more.

People look more into the instant rewards rather than the long term bad consequences.

Most people are afraid to do it. They'd rather join the herd than do things for themselves.

      Thank you Nick!

  • Thanks for the article, people leave it to late and get stuck in rat race with mortgages, bills etc and when they feel they're comfortable and ready, they cant!

With regards to money, to start a business off your dont necessarily need any. Sure its a kick start, but there are plenty of ways to build yourself up over time with the free resources there is to offer. No excuses!
  • Thanks for the article. I honestly find all of these points true, because they are definitely the honest truth. People simply make excuses because they're scared to move on and don't know what to do if they're actually following what people do. There is a quote in Wallace D Wattle's book, I believe, that I stick to, and would rather stick to.

I can't remember the entire quote, but it the concept is that if everyone is going in one direction, and you don't know which way to go, then go the opposite direction because you'll probably be more successful.
  • now it work, i finally did make 16 bucks and although it just a small number of money but i now know what to do now. Plus i will keep reading and watching motivation video to keep sustain my motivation that is so weak. I am sure after a while I can get bigger fish.............oh yeah now the world is rock with me

Hold your congratulation for while coz I just did hit make money online and that does not mean I did hit mine target yet. you can congrat to me later after I hit mine target that is $200 every month, that maybe seem too hard to get it, but I am sure I can do it loo.
    • [1] reply
    • Don't look at it as competition, look at it as opportunity. If you get about .01% of China's market, you'll get more than your $200 per month target. China is already rising. Just find a good niche among them.

  • Another useful concept is that of "we are sleeping most of the time", we are on autopilot and not aware. This is where useful routines come in.

When I am "awake" all the excuses I make up seem so silly and that motivates me even more to take action or change my mindset

  • Although I think those concepts are good but don't you feel that it's a little bit blind?

The only concept that works everytime in life and you know that people would be too scared to pull that off even they have the vision, that concept called "out of box".

You have to have courage, confidence and boldness when you see some opportunities that nobody has yet to pull off, and that thing, my friend, make you much better than others.

I believe most of your concepts work, but to sum them up, it's the "out of box" concept that trumps them all
  • As much as you have a positive intent (with your headline) to help inspire people, it's really not that simple. While the solution is simple, the problem lies within the limitations of a person, which differ from each one.

Think about it... how do people learn better, by example or being told what to do?

If people consistently have poor examples in their lives, don't you think it will take longer to be successful? They have to go out of their way and model individuals they aren't too familiar with, change their environment, etc.
  • really a motivational thought..it inspired us to keep moving and to face problem with smile which met us on way

    • Hey Louie, loved your well-written article, and especially the way you used the Blog feature

      Merry Xmas to you buddy!
  • I love the section about quitting unproductive habits and making an effort to stop wasting time.

You would not believe how much more you get done when you write down what you spend your time on, cut out the activities that aren't helping you reach your goals, and repurpose that time so that it does.
    • [2] replies
    • Most of us are born procrastinators. What we need is the urgency to do something.

    • I agree with you. When you write down the things you need to do everyday and you stick to it, you become more productive.

      Thanks for your share.
  • Great stuff Louie. I am constantly reminded of a mindset that has to be in place in order to succeed. Without this reminder, I would forget that it is so much more than the practical side of life that allows us to be who we are.

    Hope this helps or inspires
  • You should ask warriors for mentorship if you are having trouble finding a mentor as some are asking on this thread! Don't be shy, the worst that can happen is they say no or recommend someone else.

I have been trying to make money online in lots of different ways but so far i have only been able to make some money as a content writer (and it was quite difficult to find clients who have regular work). I spend all day searching for leads for content writing online but most websites like Odesk and Guru and what not require a fee and i literally have no money lol. this article was quite inspiring though.
