Ok, as an ex personal trainer instructor , I was kidding.

It is very important for the physical and mental alertness of the body, though also remember that eating healthily is just as important to ones state of wellbeing.

    • Exercise : from an exercise addict and offline consultant ...

Rules to why exercise (activity) is just like work, and just like life.

      * For those that don't work out substitute exercise with Activity & Movement.
( research proves, genetics most important for long term health. And for those in great shape, we should not sit or be in front of the pc, for extended hours because it's very unhealthy)

      1. use it or lose it - do those business actions that get results or you lose your edge (muscle)

      2. practice (workout) multiple times per week - have to be consistent in your work to improve or you will drop off.

      3. no pain, no gain - to be a success, you must feel failure and grow your professional, psychological, and emotional muscle

      4. gives you energy - making a sale.... getting a new client makes you feel Great!

      5. from nothing to creation for mind, body, and soul - creating muscle tissue from water, creatine, assorted vitamins & minerals, etc.. to something you can see in the mirror... like building your business from nothing to tangible results. you are what you see in the mirror, you are your business.

      6. only way to create -

      A. Direct Involvement of what you want to create. you want a bigger arms, then you have to do arm curls and tricep extensions.
Business = Action, not talk (or the latest and greatest magic bullet)

      B. Repetition = 1 more mile, 1 more set, 1 last rep!
Business = Repeated productive activities that help your bottomline

  • I believe the mind-body performance is very closely linked and strongly dependant upon one another.

Put a 500 horsepower motor on a small wooden boat and it can only go so fast.
  • I think exercise is a must. I try to work out several times a week and usually after I am down with my workout I will cool down in the sauna, steam room or spa area and the ideas will start to flow as I wind down. I have started taking a pen and pad with me, it seems as the sweat flows so do the ideas. I want to make sure I catch them!
  • I always feel 10 times better after a workout!

I prefer to work out int he morning, but if I can't for some reason anytime is better than never!
  • Ugh, you guys are making me feel guilty now.
  • It gives me a good start.
  • Exercise gives me more energy and a clearer Mind also meditation too
  • everything affects everything else... so poor health is effecting other areas of your life...

exercise is key to good health
  • i think i lack of exercises !
  • I am very big on exercising . I imbibed the idea after hearing Eben Pagan wake up productive program where he suggested thatwe exercise first thing first early in the morning . It works for me . rather than getting tired , I am more energised and ready to hit my goals

I have been exercising mostly early in the morning . It is very important
  • Exercise can keep our body fit and working while our mind is busy with the Internet Marketing... I guess that makes exercise very important.
  • Do a search on biofield therapy and the role of neurostransmitters in the human body. Your mind and body are one and the same. If you need your mind to be at 100% to succeed, you need your body at 100%

    • I feel the biofield,(serotonin, adrenaline, dopamine...) most of the time.

the runners high. the better addiction

I wish those that don't, try 20 minutes of cardio at 70-80% capacity for 2 weeks... and you will experience the high.

feel great, sleep better, handle stress better, eat less, think clearer, create more energy for you business.

  • I go for a run on a daily basis just to get the blood flowing and lift some weights on alternate days. I try to make sure to follow my routine but admittedly I skip some days here and there.
  • It gives me energy...

  • Absolutely important. It gives you energy, self esteem and great ideas.
  • I believe it is the most important thing in success, exercise and nutritional diet is extremely valuable, because in my opinion its not all in your head, its all in your body, if your body feels good, your head will be clear and you will be on your a game, and it gives you a ridiculous like confidence

    • Let me tell you something guys... I started ONLY eating more healthy food (im glad that my girlfriend is nutrition student! and after 3 weeks i feel really much better than i used to. Not running or fitness involded (oh,maybe just a bit).

  • I kind of feel as if exercise creates discipline within people and it is by far one of the best ways to develop mental strength especially if you have a strict diet. Protein appears to do wonders sometimes, especially in terms of improving your focus.
  • Huge importance! It does many things for you mentally and physically. People need to put it higher up on their priority lists.
  • if your body is not fit, most of the time you mind won't be fit
    • [1] reply
    • Very important! especially if you spend a good portion of the day sitting in front of a computer. Even just good, deep stretching can help you massively.
  • Physical exercise raises blood flow to your brain, so you think better mentally.

    My suggestions for good exercises:

    * walking in nature (less stress on your legs & joints compared to running)
    * swimming (less stress on legs or joints compared to running)
    * yoga (energizes your muscles quickly, tones your body & muscles)
    * relaxation exercises (meditation, Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong: to attain a calm mind)

Eat brain food also, like blueberries.

  • Walking helps with
    relieving depression
    maintaining healthy weight
pain control for arthritis and other chronic conditions
may be beneficial in preventing or delaying dementia
helps with maintain good blood pressure and blood sugar
encourages sense of hope and well being
    I think that's important.

It is not the exercise so much as being concious and intune with your mind and body afterwards. Truthfully you could exercise and still be a fool. A certain boxer going off on his pops comes to mind. Cough cough

Mind set is part of it too!
  • For me, whenever i feel out of ideas and just struggle with things, i just go outside on my bicycle. Coming back relaxed and happy
  • I run 3 times a week and I also work out with weights 3 times a week. I think exercise is one of the most important things you can do to keep your body and your mind healthy.

What I don't see mentioned in the comments yet is that you should also be careful not to overdo it. I had a period in my live where I was running every day and lifting weights 5 times a week, needless to say I was burned out after a month of following this routine. I had to sleep +10 hours every night and during the hours I was awake I wasn't very productive either because I was still feeling tired...

Furthermore I also advocate a variety in your exercise program, this keeps your whole body active and will make it less boring for you to keep on exercising multiple times a week. This is ofcourse a personal choice and everybody should seek the optimal frequency and variety in for his own exercise program.
  • Studies show that most successful people incorporate exercise into their daily routines.

I've been working, consistently, for many years; before exercise and fitness became popular. My friends used to call me "rigid" because I kept to a strict exercise schedule. Now they are getting into it because they see the benefits; especially as you age.
  • I think excersice is very important. It keeps your body in great shape and posture, which is very important to staying happy and confident. As in sports they say the body language is important it gives signals to opposition and your teammates...
  • exercise in morning especially, helps you in keeping your self fresh and energetic to attain your goals ...
  • Without actually quoting the dozens of experiments, naturalistic observations, and their results... It is safe to say that exercising helps EVERYTHING. Let me create an example for everyone to understand:

Say there were two of the exact same person living in parallel universes.. Same DNA, same personality, same goals, needs, wants, hobbies, desires, etc.. Replicas of each other..

They both do the same things, but one exercises and the other does not.

Undoubtedly, the one who gets regular exercise will live a much more successful, enjoyable, and more fulfilling life than the one who does not.

Exercise carries over into every aspect of life including (especially) any business.

I don't have time to back this up with references to demonstrate these, and perhaps you don't have time to read them, but if there is ONE thing I will take with me from my degree in psychology, it's that exercise is absolutely VITAL to ones well being.

I know everyone had basically made the same point before I did since I got on here too late but I really must add to this thread because this topic is quite meaningful for me and ideally should be for everyone!

    • Of course,I mean mans problem begun when walking was thing of the poor! Many of our athletes don't suffer from the lifestyle diseases we know of today.. The remedy is of course exercise.
    • For IM people its really important coz i work usually 10-15hrs day just by sitting so gained weight alot.Started to workout recently and feel sooooo good.

  • Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to succeed and fulfill your life.

When you exercise you are bursting your energy to allow your body get and storage more energy, when you get more energy you can use it to do things in the day with more quality.

When you finish 30 mins of walking, jogging or play a game of basketball or do some other exercises you feel relief and your body feels something like joy. That's your body giving you the thanks.
  • Exercise is needed if you have achieve anything new in life
  • Hmmm. Exercise is only important if you'd like your body to last. I walk 3.5 to 5 miles a day, I do Yoga and weight training. It keeps the body in shape, the mind clear and sharp and builds up your stamina.
  • I think it depends on the person. I exercise and am active because it makes me feel good. However, in my life, past and present I have known people who were overweight, lazy slobs with bad attitudes and despite that, had success in their chosen endeavors.

What made the difference was MENTAL. They just did not give a crap what anyone else thought and lived life on their own terms.
  • We are sitting on this device so many hours! I'm really impressioned when I see this video from Tony Robbins. He is running on treadmill and replying his own emails! Maybe you can watch some internet marketing course when you are doing exercise. There are tons of ways to make exercise. Yeah, It is really important!
  • Outside of my Christian faith, I believe that exercise is the most important variable. I personally am very lethargic and braindead when I don't exercise. However, after a vigorous workout I'm mentally fresh and ready to tackle anything!
  • I read a quote once..."The slower you move, the faster you die".

Our bodies are meant to move. We need to literally step out of the invisible box we all live in nowadays. We are not using our bodies to their full capacity stuck behind either a computer or behind the wheel driving to work. When was the last time you raised your arms? Even if it's a leisurely walk for half an hour, it's important to keep moving somehow.
  • Exercise helps you get fit and if you're fit you are able to do all other activities that you need to accomplish.
  • I read somewhere that if you sit somewhere for too long, your blot will actually start to clot and you get high-blood pressure.

Also, I read study where a rat never exercised, and it's twin did. The twin that did exercise lived like 4 times longer.

Exercise is good. Just jog around the block for 15 minute a day. Or take your pet out every morning.
  • to keep. our body works and to circulates the blood......!!!!!
  • exercise helps us a lot, i was 75 kg before then started exercise regularly till i reach 60 kg. i feel great with my body everytime. till now i'm still doing lift weight and cardio regularly
  • Obviously it helps keep you healthier, but there is also a mental benefit. Most people *feel* better when they exercise regularly.
  • It has a lot of benefits. It's like having a little cheat code for life. I recently started working out harder and changed my eating habits as well. This is how it affected me:

    - i have a lot more energy
    - i feel more confident
    - it's easier to work with the mind
    - can handle a lot of pressure without becoming emotional or stressed
    - my body looks better
  • I love to exercise, work out in gym.
I do it 5 days a week and i go swimming once a week too.
I also try to eat healthier.
I feel better and im more happy with myself.

    • Great point... diet is also key. No matter how much I'm exercising, if I don't watch what I eat I still feel far from optimal. Also, my exercise performance declines. A good, low fat diet is imperative for being healthy long term.

  • Exercise is a very important part of human life, it gives our body fitness and makes us healthy. so exercise should be done by every human being

I myself exercise for half an hour every day
  • I wrecked my arm in a motorbike spill, so I can't use it under it's own steam any more. If I don't manually flex the joints on my bad arm every day it stiffens up really quickly.

Use it or lose it people.
  • I think exercise is important for any business. You see businesses more and more making their employees get away from the desk and get some exercise.

You should always exercise not only for your health and long life but to help your mind focus when it needs to on your business.
  • I've been putting it off for a while now.

But after looking at all the responses, I am so going for a swim tomorrow.

    • is getting the heart rate moving by exercising, Better than Sex?

I went to the gym yesterday when I wasn't supposed to.
      always mindful of overtraining.

got runners high, 80% of max. heart rate for 15 minutes. it dosn't take much

woke this am feeling great, knowing, because I moved my heart all kinds of postives for the Mind, Body, and Soul.

it may not be better than sex, but it's close and it last longer than 10 seconds.
  • Very, very important!

Healthy body = healthy mind, but also exercise improves your mood, focus, productivity and creativity. You sleep better so have more energy throughout the day.

Doesn't need to by pumping iron in the gym though, anything which gets you moving, blood pumping, red, sweaty and breathless works. (Yes, including sex if it is energetic!!)

    Kate.
  • It helps your body, it even gives energy to your brain. It's very important.

  • Health is Wealth. I think this explains the importance of exercise.
  • Wow, I really learnt this the hard way.
As soon as i started a daily exercise routine (nothing fancy, just a brisk 1 hour morning walk), my productivity shot up about twice as much.
  • Wow! These motivate me to back to the gym and start sweating it out again! It's almost a year now that I haven't exercise and I miss it...There's no better feeling than sweating all those toxins out!
  • As an Ex-Aeorbics Instructor/Personal Trainer, I can say that the more fit you are physically, the more alert your brain is! Exercise also releases endorphins that make you feel good about LIFE in general. All good stuff!
  • Health is definitely wealth. The benefits of exercise are countless. And it doesn't require much time. Without a doubt it is a win win kind of situation.
  • my question is how do you get motivated for exercise?
  • For me, doing a short run or swim will certainly rejuvenate my mind and new ideas will flow naturally
  • Exercise is important. It keeps me healthy and great.
  • really important. I'm starting to exercise already.
