I decided to hang out in here after I read 'change or die'

One of the key points the author makes is having a 'reference group' meaning people who share your aspirations and beliefs; and usually when you want to achieve something new your old peers just have a subconscious investment in keeping things the way they are.

So, it doesn't matter if 'we' are digital, if we share and connect and all bring value as a 'community' we can grow in the areas we are interested in, in this case Internet Marketing.

Kudos to you! I'm hope you're seeing REAL results in your business.

One of the motivators that helped me was to know that I have a message that can truly change people's lives. Yes we IMers enjoy the money, but it's really about the message and helping others transform their lives.

So anyone that wants to doubt you, tell them to shut the f*-up and go back to watching tv. Because you have lives to change!

You did the right thing by not sharing your goals with people who don't believe in you. You want to be around people who are moving their lives in a successful direction and who can cheer you on.

I would like to add..that the one who talks negative for you are the only one who makes you realize your mistakes as it is the fact that every succesful person had recieved too many scoldings from the many persons and atlast what happened was the victory of the one who never stopped..but i too agree from ur thought one ones who really supports you from there heart core..

I agree, that is what I love about forums too. Though I have never met any of you, I get a lot of support from you guys - at least for the short time I have been on here - and offer my support to EVERYONE out there.

This forum is like one big mastermind group. I have read so much knowledge and support which is important especially for those who are struggling with IM.

A support system can either help you up or drag you down. So be sure you have the good one.

And Writing Warrior here, made a good decision of not letting the ex ruin his career. Congratulations!

True, forums are great for sharing ideas, but I think the anonymity allows people the freedom to hurt others without feeling guilt, shame or fear of rejection. I've experienced lots of negative talk on forums, not necessarily here though. I've also found you can pick and choose what to believe. The forums are a good place to get encouragement since people are willing to offer it freely, but I'd rather a stinging rebuke from a friend than a sugar-coated compliment from a stranger. FWIW.

Interesting topic. I think people benefit from Forums in lots of different ways.

Jim Rohn says that you are the average of your 5 closest friends! I know that this has proven true in my own life and has caused me to seek better supporting friends and associates. Forums can be a great place to find that kind of support.

I also go to a lot of live networking and business building events. Some of the people I have meet at these conventions and meetings are now some of my closest friends and supporters. We all support each other.
