Go drive a porsche...seriously

I gave this advice to one of my students recently. He was saying to me how he wants to make a lot more money and is willing to work for it but it doesn't seem real or possible. There was a disconnect he was feeling.

So I told him one of the most powerful reasons I escaped the struggling entrepreneur club and joined the winners circle...visualization. If you feel it and see it and taste it, then your goal and ambitions will more likely become your reality.

So I told him to go to the nearest Porsche dealership and take one for a test drive. Imagine he actually owned it and imagine he was driving back to his big home (if that's what he wanted). Visualization can be a real exercise, not just closing your eyes and "seeing it" through your minds eyes...though that also helps.

I am a HUGE believer in visualization and getting a little taste of what you are hoping to achieve.

What are your thought's on visualization?

    Hi Ken,

I am absolutely sure they work...not so much because of the "vision", but because of the feeling you create...

according to Abraham Hicks, if you keep this feeling for more than 68 sec, you start to manifest...

I would love to hear about your results with this technique.... ?

    Thanks

68 seconds. Interesting. I'd never heard a specific time before. I do know that your mind can't distinguish between reality and fiction. That's why movies and dreams seem so real in the moment even when you know they aren't.
Visualization does help you achieve, but visualization without action will do nothing but make pretty dreams. You do have to dream before you can move. Just remember not to get stuck in the dream and start placing the bricks.

I'm a big believer. I'll share a couple examples that have nothing to do with making money online.

1st - When I was about 8 years old I told my mom I was going to be a "business man" and have a job where I traveled the country. I ended up with just such a job (which sounds a lot more fun than it really is...)

2nd - I had a burning desire my whole life to have a job where I made 100k/year by age 30. I accomplished this at age 31.

3rd - When I was about 23 I really wanted to live in Madison, WI. I got my company to pay to move me there when I was 26.

I could go on and on, but honestly I don't there has been one thing that I truly believed in, and visualized (which I think you need to truly believe in to be able to do) that I didn't achieve. The stuff I'm working on now is much bigger, and it will take some time, but I have no doubt I'll get there.

Visualization, focused meditation & hypnosis are to me three tools that bring us into a state of mind where we can change our beliefs and mindsets. The key is to use these tools so that "taking action" is natural and effortless.

When you're actually looking forward to waking up in the morning and hitting the day with everything you've got that's when you know visualization is working.

Then you're not "taking action". You're not even thinking about action or inaction. You're just acting the only way you know how.

Thanks for the thread Kenster - I'm not much of a porsche man but I think the BMW dealership is calling out to me this weekend ;-)

The book I just finished is great for this....Ask and It is Given by E Hicks.
It goes into detail on processes you can do to help with visualization and ultimately the manifestation of things wanted in your life. If you believe in the law of attraction, you'll love this book as well!

Just thinking of having a Porsche in the drive way makes me feel good inside. Puts me in the TO WORK mood.

But definitely, what you focus on the most is what you often times get.

Tony Robbins has that exercise where he asks you to focus on everything brown that's around you. Then close your eyes and ask yourself how much red you saw. Most times you didn't see any red but you even tried to cheat and say beige was brown to have more brown things to count. <-- Did I explain that right? Lol

Make your dreams reality!! LETS GET IT!

Yes. Visualization does work. The reason is because by visualizing we sort of program our brain to get the ball rolling, so to speak. Even if at first we have no clue how to go about getting from point A to B, just by seeing ourselves ALREADY in point B, we start taking action.

That's how I got hired at every job I ever had and wanted...I would just say to myself: Yeah, I can SEE myself doing that!..later I would worry about what I had gottten myself into, but then, I would simply focus and learn everything I could as fast as I could.

It works for just about anything, learning a new language, school exams, new jobs, getting the girl/guy to say yes, and anything challanging and meaningful that we want to achieve.

I certainly believe in visualization. This is one of the reasons that keeps me going towards driving success in my online businesses. If I see myself driving a Porsche like that, I'll do anything to make it a reality!

    I visualize everything....

Even when you hit a level of success, enjoy the moment but keep visualizing your goals.

My thoughts is that it works like gangbusters.

    ...I'm living proof of it.

I would also add that visualizing is something
I usually do as I'm working towards it.

This re-enforces my belief, goals, and what I
    want to achieve.

Also, I put on some good meditative feel good
music to put me in the mood and suddenly as
I'm working it stops being and work and starts
    being fun.

I'm on my way to getting my first Jeep (I like
jeeps) because I went to a dealership 2 years
    ago for a test drive.

...it's one of those experiences you don't for-
get. You can smell the leather. Feel the comfort.
    Hear the engine...

it's a different beast to experience it and than
work to get what you felt was yours any way
in those 15 minutes on the road.

I have a Porche dealer up the street I'm going
to do this on because of this thread. Thanks, Ken.
