Hi everyone,
I have a monumental admiration for anyone who really tries to improve in business, relationships, spirituality and the like. May I kindly suggest that it is never about the money. Once you connect with your calling, your gift (and we all have them), the money usually follows although here is the hammer: if it doesn't, you'll still be left with the best life for you! Many people out there have found peace and happiness on modest incomes and wouldn't change their lives for the world. I think that's beautiful. The bank balance is not a measurement of your achievements in this world but rather, the sparkling eyes you create after coming into contact with those around you!

  • The biggest problem with that is people must take IM seriously and not just when they have time. If it means it must be all about the money, then so be it.

    • Hey, Christian, I hear you on that. The truth of the matter is that we each are motivated by different things. I admit that for some, it IS about the money, and that's not a bad thing.

      One of the primary reasons for going into any kind of business is to make a profit from it. If a person is doing it for the fun of it, or for a sense of achievement, that is fine. That's their motivation.

      But if their underlying purpose is to make it financially successful, then that becomes their motivation, and you are correct that they must then take it very seriously and make it their primary focus.

    • If your goal is money then by all means go for it! Nobody can tell you not to.

      However, what the OP is trying to share with everyone is true Happiness. Not "happiness" clouded by the outside world - only trying to please others and never yourself.

  • Nice. I've not had much success earning money online, but yes, at least I can justify that I am passionate about much of what I do online.
  • Having money opens new doors for you, you meet new people and I think with money you will become a happier person. Money buys you a sense of security, you are in a comfort zone.

    With no money you might be happy with yourself and those around you when you start. Without money you are not progressing forward, not buying new things, not visiting new places, trying new foods, etc. You are happy living your life like your started.

    Without progress you are living an empty life. Dont you want to get a bigger house, better car? Living your life on the same level as you started cant be very happy over time.

    When it comes to making money from IM it is all about determination and skill level. You can be a newbie who is determined & learns enough to launch a profitable project, whatever it may be. On the other hand IM veteran who is lazy and likes to procrastinate might take 6 months to launch a mediocre site. It is all about how badly you want to earn money and if you need it. Money is what drives mankind.

    While you might be driven to make more money because you want to have a better life, you will most likely make sacrifices in other aspects of your life to accomplish that. Working extra hours long term with extra stress puts toll on your level of happiness. You will have to find a symbiotic relationship between the two.

    • Lets get real here people! Myself and most other entrepreneurs I know are motivated by money. It starts being all about the money. And as you create businesses that are good ideas and you find ones you really like to do then you've found what you love.

      But it always is about the money at the start.

      And in internet marketing?!? I would find it terribly hard to believe that most of you went into internet marketing only because you liked it or were interested by it. The prospect of making that money, as much as you could, is what got you started and THEN you found out that "oh yeah I actually like this it's fun"

  • it's about doing what you want.. and usually doing what you want requires cash ..mixing doing what you want with making cash is win win ..

    the hard part is finding stuff you want to do that makes enough cash to live on

    But life is not all about the cash.

    The most desired outcome of success is freedom. Freedom allows you to do anything you like and when humans are given that freedom they rarely chose to go and spend it making money. They usually do things that are exciting, satisfying or interesting.

    I won a small "lottery" on day a few years ago (I sold a website for an extreme amount) and you know what? All i wanted to do was spend time with my friends...exactly what I was doing before I had a small windfall. Think about it. With our day jobs, what is the best time of the day? When we finish work and can focus on "non-money-matters". Work is ALL about the cash (usually) but life is about friends, family, hobbies, passions and laughter. The problem is that if we don't have "enough" money we worry and don't enjoy our "off-work" time.

    Let's make big cash while we can so we can get on with living asap!

    Yes, money is not everything but it is ranked up there in importance just like OXYGEN that we need to breath.

  • Those who are happy with a small income, it is okay with them.

    It is not sinful or immoral to pursue a big income. I find it in order to dream of a private jet, big homes around the world, philanthropic activities running in billions and perhaps knighthood.

    I just wonder if these people comfortable with small incomes would decline a lottery win or if they were bequeathed with $100 million.

    Would they say no, thanks?

    You come into the world with nothing and you leave with nothing so it's what happens in between those points that matter.

    I do believe that the relevance we place on money is relative to our age and what we have learnt as we journeyed through life.

    I now believe that it's not the size or the amount of the "toys" that count it's what you do with the money whilst you are here.

    I believe that if you are able to leave an ongoing legacy of helping others who may not be as fortunate as yourself then your time here and your money has been well spent !!

  • Sometime i've heard that money doesn't solve money problems. I agree with that 100% and think that the opposite concept just limits your personal power of changing things.

  • This is a great message and you're absolutely right, many people if not most people live exceptional and happy lives with little money. I disagree with some that say Internet Marketing is all about the money. For me it is about the information Products I am creating, adding value and information to people's lives so they can accomplish better happier and meaningful lives, that I request compensation for this is twofold, people don't listen to that which they get for free, and if I don't have money to live on, i don't have time to create the products that are helping them.

    I see Internet Marketing as Value for Value, I have created a product that I put a certain value on, they have a certain need that they have put a certain value on, and if our two values match up, then we are both enjoying the fruits of Capitalism.

    However, I would also like to say that I've seen two set of people with the same passions, one making millions, and the other just surviving. A lot of people would be amazed at how they could monetize their passion and make a lot of money out of it... a lot of people who are living quaint lives choose those quaint lives because they don't want to put in the effort of turning their passions into real money.
