in a schools zone it is with chiildren around and walking is it safe to go 15 or 20 miles an hour .. on the high way.. you can legaley got 65 mph or more ..depending on how much you want to risk a ticket ..

you would not treat every road like it was a school zone.. and once you over 22 or so you generally stop treating every road like it is the highway ..

in most parts of life the speed limits arn't posted ..and many people treat every road like there is a 15 mile and hour limit with stop signs evey few feet ..

this meaningless rant is to point our and ask ..are the limits you are working under .. really limits or are you just setting them at a low safe level ..

at one time i didn't right much because my spelling and gramar where terrible.. still are and i could only type about 10 or 15 words a minute .. spelling and grammar still kind of suck.. but i feel most people can understand what i say and i type a lot faster ..

if i still worked under the limits i had 12 years ago .. and with that voice pounding away in the back.. this post would have taken me 3 hours ..instead it took 10 minutes ..

  • Odahh, congrats on your progress .

You make a very good point. We go at speeds we set for ourselves without even knowing. Many times we don't even have a destination. No destination and snail-speed, no wonder there are so many posts about failure in this sub-forum.

Never thought of it that way, but your analogy is very good and something to keep in mind. Thanks for sharing!

    • I had a bike and I used to ride my bike with speed of 80 mph with honing at school zone. But after reading your post I am thinking that I have done the wrong thing. From now on I have made up my mind not to ride bike on that speed at school zone.

Anyways, a big thanks to sabinavarga

Waooowww what a nice life's insight I really like this post.

"Do it fast, so fast that you could hit things. If, you are not hit a thing, you are not fast enough..."- Mark Zuckerberg.

    Fast is better than slow.
  • this is really great...
  • Our lives are filled with zones where we can safely speed ahead and zones where it is better to go through more cautiously. The trick is knowing when to speed and when to slow down!

I agree that we all too often set safe speed limits in areas where we really should be pushing ourselves to move faster. Sometimes we just have to put the pedal to the metal and test our potential.

  • moving faster at the right place is good.
  • I never thought of it that way. Thanks for sharing your insight
  • Very nice insight. I agree with the word of GT "The trick is knowing when to speed and when to slow down!".

Just don't limit your speed when you know that you are in the right track/place to speed up.
  • hil if you can get a bike up to 80 mph on the streets around schools zones in any city in the state i live.. and yor not a professional cycalist..

you need to re-examine your calling .. hehe ..
  • In the way of life it is necessary to know when to start, when to go fast, when to slow and when to stop. If you fail to set the limit, you will be the ultimate looser. Good post.
  • Not so long ago I think i was not so far off the lane you began on. Now am at least able to change lanes and though I still can't hit the highway, Am improving on my speed and road signs. I still hope to type at the equivalent of 65 mph
  • Well said, Odahh.

In addition to speed zones....go faster zones.... within our life, I might add that there are green light---get going areas. A driver rarely misses a green light. But, in the day-to-day world, we frequently do. Oftentimes, we remain motionless when we should be moving forward.
