I agree persistence is very important but as far as being THE key to success I'm not so sure.

In fact peristently doing the WRONG thing normally leads to failure not success.

Persistence - yes it helps. But also do remember, although I do understand it was just an analogy, there is more ways than one to achieve your goals. Sometimes, even more efficient ways.
Hammering is only one 7ay to break a rock. But understand that if you take this a bit literally, there are many other advanced tools to make things a lot easier.

Especially in the Internet Marketing world. There's a lot of more advanced tactics and methods to take you to where you need to be faster than hammering something 1000 times.
