When you have a goal out in front of ya folks...

I'm gonna be honest with you...

You have to let go of everything that is around you, you have to let go of distractions and anything around you that is not helping you move forward towards that goal. You see many things in life come and try to make us go this way and that way, when we are already headed in the direction to our destiny. Now I'm not gonna get all mystical and magical here, but I am going to tell you that you have got to focus with all of your might on that one goal....

Focus with all of your might!

Don't half @$$ it!

Eliminate distractions and things that aren't helping you move forward! Once you do you will be surprised at how fast things begin to move for you!

  • S2M,

Nice. I don't think it is possible to eliminate distractions. But I do believe it is possible to create strategies for managing them and controlling them better. Instead of the inverse.

Obviously when you set a goal everything around you is going to try and get in-between you and your desire to reach it.

Here are some practical strategies for controlling distractions.

    1) Put your cell on silent.

    2) Make a list as to why your goal is more of a priority then other basic day-to-day routines.

    3) Get super clear about the "feeling" you are going to experience after you have reached and owned that specific goal.

This will create your "driving force" to get you there. Think about this daily.

    4) Keep your web browser minimized.

    5) Keep a notepad open on your computer, and a physical one aside it.

    6) Respond to email right before dinner, before your work day is over.

    Swerve.

  • The internet has to many distractions that promise this or that and before you know it is midday then evening. I work offline most of the time and go online when necessary
  • I agree with you that if you want to achieve your goals you have to get many distractions out of your way. They are time wasters!

    • Yes, otherwise you will be spinning your

wheels and not really moving forward in life!

Put your blinders on, and keep them on!

This will help you get a lot more done!

      Be blessed,
      Michael

  • So.... put all my eggs in one basket?

    • Not necessarily put all of your eggs in one

basket. But focus on one thing until you

succeed. The more things you try to put

your time and energy into, then the less

you will essentially get out of all of these

business and ventures, versus just focusing

on one, until it starts making you the money

      that you want.

      Be blessed,
      Michael

  • Right on Michael. When I first started online I even went so far as to post office hours on my new home office door with the instructions to my wife and kids not to disturb me unless it was a REAL emergency.

It worked. They left me alone and I got more done, Eventually everyone accepted the fact that when I was in my home office I was in effect at work away from home.

really is the only way to succeed and

make progress towards your goals in

      life!

  • Major distractions are Facebook, Youtube and other social media. Reading emails, talking on the phone with friends. Watching movies, tv and just plain doing nothing.

Don't let fear and procrastination get in the way of your dreams!

  • I agree that sometimes we have our silent time killers. This is a lesson
for everyone that focus is needed and that our little
things can be a distraction and destructive to our future
    goals and success.
