  • Once you set your goals you also need to set your focus and then take massive action and you are sure to succeed. Goals without focus or action turn into failures.

    • Yes I agree, I found a great quote about that.
'Goals without actions are just Dreams'
  • The important thing is to stay focused and be patient.

    • I agree! John Wooden said the two most important ingredients in success in any area of life are faith and patience. If you set the goal and resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes you WILL be successful!

  • Not afraid of failure. Face it and learn from mistake. It is alright to make mistake. We learn and fine tune it. Keep on trying to reach your goal.

  • Set a goal. Then figure out what steps are needed to meet that goal. Schedule the steps and complete them until you achieve the goal.
  • The first part is the SECRET to (eventually) getting things done. Setting a goal you know you can achieve gets you taking action. Once action is taken, you will find yourself exceeding your initial/ mini goal b/c momentum is in effect.

This approach has kept me going to the gym on days when I was not in the mood. It's worked for over 20 years so I'm sure it'll work for lots of other things.

However, the toughest part of IM in my opinion is the "stay focused" part. So many ways to market and make money...it's too much stimulation sometimes.
  • I think if we could just combine all the things everyone said in one brain we would be rich!
  • Writing down your goals is the best you can do

    • Patience... Faith... Consistency... You can write your goals down all you want, but if you dont have the patience and faith to see them through then your just spinning the wheels.
  • Never give up.. The only way you'll find success.
  • Write your goals down, It keeps you motivated
  • Yeah!
    Definitely true!

If a person is focused with his/her goals everything will be possible just to achieve his/her goals.
  • You really will not fail if you have a killer instinct mindset.
  • If you're going trough hell, keep going
  • as others said, always write down your goals so your mind is clear about where you are going
  • Something I like to do is jot down the #1 reason why I want to succeed in multiple places ie. the bathroom, my room, my car, the fridge. To constantly remind myself to stay on track and keep focused on the goal.
  • Write down your goal and read it out everyday.......if can't do it everyday, must take it our and look at your goal when you are down, your goal can keep you moving up!

  • all you need is a the need to do something. you need the never stop trying attitude. and a good set of goals with improvements.
  • Every day, take some kind of action that moves you closer to achieving them. Every day.
  • Felix,

I like that motto. Keep on moving forward and taking action each day.
  • Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.

Write 'em down, make a plan, form rituals, take action, see results, enjoy, repeat!!!
  • This is a lot of good stuff here in this thread!

    • Seriously if everyone had the mindset they are writing about on this thread I'm sure everyone would be doing quite well!
  • I write goals every week.. Most of the time it ends up more like a "To-Do List".. Which I feel doesn't matter, as sometimes I can forget to do the small things..

I love looking back over the list at the end of every week.. and ticking 90% of them off.. It gives me a real sense of achievement, and helps motivate me the next week.

Goal setting has become a part of my weekly routine..

    • That is a great system to include in your business. I'm sure every week moving forward you are making progress. Thanks for sharing.

  • And eat fear every breakfast, lunch, dinner.
  • You can write goals until you are blue in the face, and even take action on them, but it's no guarantee of success.

Many of my clients have well articulated goals but:

    1. Have not thought through what they truly want to achieve
    2. Have no coherent and consistent strategy for achieving their goals once they ahve sorted out point 1.
    3. Ask for help too late. We seem to have created a culture where asking for help is seen as a sign of weakness!
    4. Panic when they make mistakes.

    • Almost sounds like they have listed out their wishes and dreams rather than serious goals. If they aren't devoting a sufficient portion of their time, energy, and resources to goal accomplishment then what they listed really aren't their goals.

I doubt I could write out goals, think through exactly what I want and why, determine a timeframe for accomplishment, etc (all required in true goal setting) without also coming up with action plans and roadmaps -- even if by accident. But maybe that's just me.

      Peace
  • Totally agree. An unorganized mind goes nowhere.
  • Brilliant. Never give up.
