Let go of bitterness?!?!

Do you think that bitterness has ever helped anyone to be more successful? If you would answer, "No." to that, then I would recommend that you attempt to let go of any and all bitterness within you, if any is there!

I hope this is alright being posted here because as I imply above, I think that letting go of bitterness can allow one to potentially have more success!

  • I believe bitterness has made people work harder, but for only a short spurt before they reach success because they are afraid they will never live up to the competition.

    A person will become successful when they learn to let go. To take things in stride, and to only worry about their own actions.

    Anger, bitterness, resentment, envy all fester and don't allow you to reach your full potential in life.

    • Some people say that success is the best form of revenge. So depending on the person, vengeance may used as a driving force to seek one's goals.

      For me though, my mindset would be completely different. I would do all things for myself and personal growth rather than a means of vengeance. Letting go of past events, including people who have wronged us and the like, is necessary in moving forward. We must always focus on the present rather than just dwelling in the past.

  • I second the opinion. Bitterness for anyone or anything can only make the situation worse never better. So let go all your bitterness and forgive yourself and others. Souls are free and they should be liberated.

  • Bitterness is a waste of time for you and others. Coz in the end the bitter person carries all the baggage.

    • This reminds me of a game of poker. When I started i always wondered what the other guys were folding on, whether they bluffed or not. Getting over this "hang up" allows you to trade stocks better (you get over the "emotion" of a loss and just accept it) and same with bitterness. Bitter for what? Someone did you wrong (thats life, just like stocks dont move the way you wanted, or just the way you got phased on a poker bluff - you cant win all the time) I learned to accept these things by playing poker... If you won in the stock market 51% of the time you'd be rich. If the 49% of losses is just misery and bitterness, that wealth will come at a tremendous cost. Some in poker, small losses, big wins. Same with life, everyday a few knocks, but big wins. 2c worth...
  • Bitterness has helped a lot of people get rich. It might be a person who was was given a hard time by others growing up and they decided they were going to be rich as a way of getting back at them. So they went out and did just that. I fall into that category. I'm not rich, but my annual income is over $300k. I take great pride in seeing those who used to torment me struggle to pay their bills while in some cases, I make more in one day than they make in an entire month.

      Sometimes I too am tempted to feel good when I compared myself to those who look down on me or who think nothing of me, but I try not to indulge in those thoughts, because I realize at the end of the day, I'm still living my life for these people.

      Their judgement of me still matters and affect me, and basically I'll be giving them control over my life.

      I wish you nothing but the best, but just wanna share a personal experience with you.

      Why let go of bitterness? Because that's what everyone else does or claims to do?
  • If you're bitter, then you need to look at why you're bitter. If yes, then you need to look in the mirror and let it go because you have issues with something that is making you bitter. It's like the woman who gets divorced and is now bitter to men because she is bitter towards the ex husband, because one thing didn't work, doesn't mean that all things don't work.
