I used to write poems
I used to write short poems
today I thought I would
have another bash at one
to see if I still could
I used to write nice poems
I don't bother anymore
Who wants to read the silly rhymes
of some romantic bore?
I used to write dark poems
Not so much these days
My focus seems to be attached
to writing stuff that pays
I used to write long poems
But now I just write prose
Now I write the stuff I think
That people wants to knows (he he).
I used to write joke poems
This won't be my last one
I fathom now how good it feels
when that last word is done.
