I have quite a hefty Skype list and notice a lot of people are in need of the right direction. Some people have ideas and some are just completely unsure as to whether this "Make Money Online" thing is just a waste of time.

I'm actually quite glad to see that you have a list, which is more than many people so at least your in the right direction. Would you like to discuss what your niche and product is about? I'd be interested to know and help point you in the right direction.

You haven't provided a lot of information but if you don't want to share that, then that's your choice We can't really keep bumping this posts with one question after another, so maybe drop me a message via Skype and we can talk.

Another solution would be to do a search on the forum here and try to find people in the same niche as you and see what they are doing. You can always learn a thing or two from those more successful than yourselves, so you maye want to give that a go.

Take some time to learn marketing itself - not Internet Marketing, just marketing. People often jump past good old marketing, and (IMHO) that is a big mistake.

In terms of figuring our your market, it sounds like you don't really know who is buying from you now, and why they are buying from you. Use the next few weeks to really learn those two points. Learn who is buying from you, and why. Understand what benefits they think they are getting when they buy - and that is often different from what you (as product creator) think they are getting. You need to really get inside their heads. If you have good stats on your site, you can study the keywords and search phrases people are using that lead to your site. Analyze that data as well.

Some excellent advice in this thread. Finding the right mentor can change your life/business. But without trying to overstep any boundaries might I suggest you might not be ready yet? It sounds like you aren't 100% sure of where you want to go/be with all of this other than the obvious goal of sales. To choose the right mentor you have to have chosen a basic path.

1) Have clear goals
2) Research and map out what it takes to get there
3) Pinpoint the areas where you need to learn more
4) Network and create relationships with people on the same path
5) Know enough about the process to recognize those who are truly ahead of you
6) That's when you'll be at a place where you can successfully find that awesome mentor

I was blessed with an amazing mentor, started as a friendship. He was my top pick for mentor and I hit the lottery when he took me on. It's important to note that mentorship has to be give-give, a two-way street but not necessarily paid teaching. Be ready to bring something to the table, maybe you have skills your mentor could appreciate. HTH

Define a starting target market for your product, and do an extensive search or find a cost effective lead list to reach out to. Google search has access to millions of business/people if you know how to search properly.

For example, if you're looking for music producers or recording studios; do a google search on 'national recording studio directory'

Google will bring up numerous directories chock full of contact information that is accessible to the public where you are free to fire e-mail blasts and reach out from there. Alternatively you can purchase junk leads off the internet but who knows what you're going to get? Good luck.

A couple quick thoughts....

1. Are you hoping to just ride your drum sounds & loops product? I hope not because as someone who works in the industry, everyone is always looking for new sounds, innovations etc to stay fresh and adapt with always changing tastes for the flavor of the month mentality.

In other words, do you offer more than one product? What's stopping you from making more products to sell to your current customer list?

2. How many testimonials have you gotten from your customers? Do you have any big names who have bought your product?

3. How are you marketing your product? Most internet marketers don't understand how the music industry works. It's primarily a word of mouth, referral industry, so what's your strategy for getting to the people who produce Madonna or Mya or name whomever you wish?

You've gotten alot of good advice so far from Steve, Patrick & Warren.

You need to determine who your target market is. Who is the end user of your product?

How do you reach them? How do they make their buying decisions?

What makes your product better and easier to use than just calling the best session drummer in town to lay down some tracks?

Hopefully you'll get excited about the advice you're being given.

Before you choose a mentor, make sure you know the answers to the questions I just asked you. Then look for a mentor who has a track record in the niche you're wanting to excel in. Find a mentor who understands how the music and entertainment industry works TODAY (not 20 or 30 years ago). That's likely going to reduce your mentor choices down to someone in LA, Vegas, NYC or Miami.

What I would start off doing is reading the forum, looking specifically for information or asking questions on what you need to know everytime you hit a hurdle.

You will find you get more than enough information this way and you will be learning by making mistakes as you go along.

What I am trying to say, is there is more than enough information in the forum, don't buy anything, at least not to begin with or spend hundreds of $$$'s on a coach.

Search > Read > Implement > Ask Questions > Tweak (Make mistakes) and back to search again.

Eventually you will be up and running - at least this worked for me.
