how to be successful online

just a short post but one i think is good lol i'm biased

Step 1
Define your goal - start with being realistic as to how much you believe you can earn, sure people say think big etc, but if you're down to your last dollar, 10,000 a month may be too unrealistic for you.
Chunk Down - once you have your big goal chunk down to smaller goals.

Example
I want to make 400$ a month selling ebooks.
That's 100$ a week
Assume you work 5 days a week, that's only $20 bucks a day - does not seem that difficult.

Step 2
Make a plan
Plan out what you need to do each day to achieve this figure. It may be list building, forum posting, research, developing your website.

Example
Week 1
Mondays - research topics
Tuesday - research markets
Wednesday - print out or save all your info
Thursday - begin to work thru the information
Friday - begin to write

Week 2
Monday - re-read your book what needs to be added
Tuesday - make changes
Wed - decide on a domain name
Thursday - purchase domain and hosting
Friday - Package your ebook

Week 3
Monday - find a template that you can use
Tuesday - tweak the template
Wed - upload the template
Thursday - brainstorm marketing ideas
Friday - check viability of marketing ideas

This can continue for 4 weeks, or you may do some steps quicker

Step 3
Stick to your plan - that's a simple step

Step 4
See what's working and what is not, make appropriate changes and stick to your plan.

Ok that's a simple overview but it is a start

To me the key problem for most is focus and motivation. You never know how close you are to success, so never give up, however keep changing and tweaking your plan if it's not working as you expected

Hope that helps

  • Great write up!

A person also must have the right mind set. For instance, if he is always self sabotaging, then there is a part of his unconscious mind that prevents his success. This have to be taken care of to free the imprisonment.

Once that part is in agreement with the whole, than you will see him/her soar.

  • So easy to say, so hard to do. Nonetheless, if you're persistent enough, and stick to your gameplan, everything will work out.

    Thanks for the post. ^_^

    • I bet he got that idea off ShoeMoney or one of the other big name scammers er, bloggers.

Anyways, I know the thread is about success and that so I'll add my two cents instead ending on a negative note.

I think that sticking to your plan is indeed an important key. And I'd be the first to admit that I'm probably in need of this advice possibly more than anyone here. Shed distractions as much as possible. Take a look at Anik's desk at the Launch Tree website. Nothing but the essentials. That can be symbolic of so much other 'fat' around our lives to distract us.

For focus check out Simpleology 101. (Google will point the way).

What's the quickest way from point 'A' to point 'B'?

      Answer: A straight line.

      Focus is the 'straight line'.

  • Wonderful post, however I think that there may be a bit more to step 3. Staying focused and sticking to your plan is often very difficult, at least for me it is. Of course this brings up the subject of setting goals and keeping them, which has been discussed in many posts before. If anyone has any hints for achieving this I'd love to hear them.

    Thanks thesuccesscoach for posting this.

It's all about Search Engine Optimization.

    All the best,
    Beatrix
  • i would say to start selling other peoples products as an affiliate first for a little bit until you get the hang of it and then develop your own and go from there.
