To me, focus is the ability to chose what I want to pay attention to and be able to block everything else out. It is the ability to control your thoughts and think about only the things you choose to. It is the clarity of thought persevere at your chosen task until it is complete.

Getting something done no matter what happens. No matter if it takes a lot of time to do or it's done fast. And while doing it you don't care about some small things that doesn't help you get closer to your goals...

    Hey iphonecashmachine,

I define focus as the ability to perform
any single task without being easily distracted
    by outside noise or circumstances.

For me, to focus is to be able to quiet
my mind and ignore all outside distractions.

    Is it easy? Heck no!

But, I always listen to relaxing music when
I am writing...something without words or else
I'll sing along and get lost in the moment!

Doing that helps me quickly put all my attention
on the the job to be done.

Is this the same as outsourcing what you don't like to do and only working on what you do like to do? Yeah, that's my philosophy too.

I must say I've never put it like that though.

I think ignoring or shutting out distractions has more to do with concentration than focus. Don't confuse the two.

Being focus means to become a master in a specific field rather than a jack-of-all-trades. Just like Warren Buffett or Tiger Woods. They're absolutely focused in their respective field and that is why they have become the masters.

Too many people try to dabble with too many things at the same time and as a result, they lose their focus.

I have a friend who's an opportunist. He jumps on every business opportunity he can lay his hands on. He hardly follow through all the way on a single business. And that is why he still amounts to nothing much after years of being in business.

He's a smart guy. He takes a lot of actions. But too bad he's not focused.

So, if you want to become an affiliate marketer, focus on being an affiliate marketer. Don't try to think of how to create your own product at the same time. Develop your own product only after you've become successful in affiliate marketing.

There are many ways to make money online. But you can make some real money ONLY if you stick to one business model at a time.

      That's what focus is about.

      Cheers~

      Mark

I would say focus is getting "in the zone"...where all u think about is the task at hand!
