Things I've Learnt From Watching Television

It's often said that watching too much TV is not good. Yet, I've learnt a few priceless lessons from the TV shows that I'm a big fan of. Feel free to add your own views below.

Prison Break - Always deal with the most important issue first. Michael Scofield has tons of problems and is constantly surrounded by chaos. Yet, he always focuses on the most pressing problem at hand and solves that first.

The Mentalist - Always think differently from the norm and have fun. Patrick Jane is quirky, eccentric and funny but never fails to show that he is the smartest guy in the room.

Burn Notice - Always have a Plan B. Michael Weston knows that in the field, anything can go wrong and is always prepared to deal with it.

Spartacus - Never give up fighting for what you believe in. Even when his woman dies or he has to kill his best friend, Spartacus, still fights for freedom.

Arrow - You can't do everything alone. Oliver Queen has good friends(JV partners?) to help him nail his targets.

Breaking Bad - Obsessing over your work or anything can make you lose everything. Things started to go haywire for Walter White, once he began obsessing over power and money.

The Walking Dead - Get far away from haters The survivors have to constantly kill or runaway from zombies which just wanna drag them down and eat them. Just like haters.

Dexter - Honestly... I learnt nothing but it's such a cool show

  • Awesome post!

I learnt never to trust anyone who goes by the name of "The Governor" from The Walking Dead...

    • I envy you. You must be spending some time in front of the TV set. I seldom get that chance now. On a daily basis, I have about 45 mins of news and 30 mins of movies while saying my daily rosary. Even prayers can be a segment of multi-tasking.

  • Seriously? This one has the biggest lesson of all.

Live by a code, and don't deviate from it without a damn good reason.

Also, stand out from the crowd. If you have to be a serial killer, be the one that kills other serial killers. How's that for a killer differentiation?

  • Only watch television to rewind... don't become addicted.

24 - there are 24 hours in a day, there's a lot of time to do a lot of stuff... even save the world!
